Did I get this right? Carbon filter, vortex, air cooled hood. Pics!

Looks good except, I would of put the exhaust fan on the other side of your light. Exhaust fans are designed to pull air as opposed to pushing air.

i was wondering about that, and i watched way too many vids on youtube about "the right way" to set up an air cooled hood.. the one guy had a hole in one wall drawing fresh air inside his grow room with the vortex which then went thru the hood to cool the lamp as it exhausted out the other side.. that made the most sense to me, as the point of the air cooled hood is to cool the lamp, i guess its pretty much the same thing, but there was something also about creating negative pressure when the fan was on the other side, sucking air out, which i think was a bad thing.. but opinions/vids were pretty much 50/50 with the fan either being on one side or the other. Would definately like to know more about it..

your right, and i struggle with this problem since ive started growing, just havnt rearranged yet.. i have mine setup like you, and temps reach about 84 as i dont have much cieling height and use 2 1ks..
im thinking about exhausting it seperately in the future maybe when i get some more loot

I'm too sketch to move up to the 1ks at the moment haha. Started small with cfls jumped to the 600w for flower. Stays nice and cool with the set up tho. Room stays in the low 20's (Celsius) with humidity around 20-30. Its a closet space divided so the bottom 4x4 is veg and the top 4x4 is my flower. About 2 and a half feet deep. It's in the back storage room too which stays nice and cool in general. But it's amazing how much cool air this fan sucks in.

ya man, if your temps are fine, dont worry about a thing.. if i had 2 600s, my temp would be perfect probably, but when i get mid flower im working with temps of 84 or so lol.

Looks good dude, I'd keep the fan where it is though. It's preferable to blow cool air over the light as opposed to sucking hot air out.
