Keep the environment in check and treat the plants as best as you can.. that's all you can do

Dialing in and new strains dont really fit in the same sentence. Dialing in is something that takes a lot of first hand working with any particular strain. Anytime you bring new strains into the equation, you're right back to the beginning of the process.
I have to run different strains almost all the time. I don't believe I've ever truly dialed in anything because of it.

Same way with any new strain. Start them out slow, root some cuttings, and then experiment with feeding and training. That's what I do anyhow.
