To much growth!? DIY under current rdwc og kush 18

Under current rdwc diy build test run. This is og kush 18 from dna/reserva. When i built the system i wasnt expecting this much growth. Im only running one for the test but the system is designed to run 6 in 5 gallon buckets.

Im already seeing that i will have to run paint strainers to contain the roots. Im looking for any other tips from you guys that might help! Thanks

Og kush 18 indica (i thought in veg at least) pheno with fan leaves over 12" wide.

6 weeks from seed + 21 days 12/12. Internode spacing in veg was really tight.

Flipped at 13" tall 18" wide. Currently at over 4ft tall 4.5ft wide. Ive seen explosive growth in 12/12 at over 4" per day at some points. I wasnt expecting this size curious what might happen with 6 of these.

Was hoping to pull 3oz on test run but now what do you think yield might be??

T5 3 weeks veg, 600w mh 3 weeks veg, 1k hps 3 weeks 12/12

The roots have basically filled the 5 gallon bucket already.

Thanks! I hope to be ok using the paint strainers but if they dont work 6 of these would stop up the piping for sure! I circulate the system every 5 min and it might be a problem with this size!

I think you just need bigger buckets. I'd try that

I ran some POG (purple trainwreck x OG#18. It is a beast of a plant. it comes close to tripling in flower, but it has nice FAT, pretty buds. I love the plant, didn't end up purple but it's good bud, with great yield. Smell is the only complaint.
God luck on the 18, I have heard anything with it in it is usually nice.

edit: just saw u are already past your stretch, seems yours reached for the sky like mine.

Nice i have 8 foot ceiling and my light can only go up about another foot. I had another 3" of stretch so i hope she stops soon!

Did u top? I'm learning that OG likes to stretch also :/ Comes with time handling the strain in particular. Next round just do some LST to make her bushier and don't veg so long if you cant afford the height. On another note if you wanna avoid the root issues just switch to totes. More volume and ph levels etc are easier to manage once dialed in

No i didnt top she was growing wider than tall the whole way - heavy on the indica side. I only went 6 weeks from seed flipped at 13". She is now nearing 5ft tall by 5ft wide! Guessing ill need to just flower from rooting clone.
