What's you're peoples thoughts on the Phillips CDM 330's. I just was given 10 highbay lights all running 330 CDM with 6 new bulbs.

I don't usually grow for weight but did one run and got 1.2 gpw with 26w/sq./ft. Sweet spot for gpw is probably 30-35w/sq.ft. if you can configure them to cover your area. Key I think for yields is taking advantage of their penetration as they grow decent bud as far down as 30" depending on strain.
Thats fucking great news really? And how low are you keeping these things?

377g in a 3.5 x 3.5', 4x 5gal plants and one got some sort of root issue and only produced 1/2 of what the other 3 did. Right strain these can pull an elbow in a 3.5 x 3.5x3.5H. I tried different heights and keep mine at 20-22" above canopy, seems to be the sweet spot in penetration and avoids bleaching. Strains behave differently of course but I've found pretty well anything I ran at 18" got bleaching on the top layer.

Here's that run, just before harvest to the trim, shit load of finger hash too :)

I wonder how the wrong strain would do? Im addicted to running the wrong strains.

lol, depends I suppose, I run a couple of strains that produce lower weights but worth the quality to me like Harlequin and Blue Pyramid. Some are in between like my JTR, does well with training but can't break a QP in 5gal. I've been running quite a bit of a cross of JTR x Blueberry, one pheno produces like Blue Dream but much better quality. Blue Dream produces well, lots of frost too but it's weak in comparison to anything else I'm running. Main thing imo is these LEC's will make the best of whatever I'm running and the quality is right up there with LED's.

Cut down one of my girls from the SunSystem LEC tent the other day. Here's a close up of her not too long before she got the big, ugly, axe. Her resin production was fantastic. This LEC grow has really impressed me, so much so, that I just bought a new 3x3 tent and a Phantom CHM to go in it.

Nice, that looks killer :) I did much the same thing picking up the second unit. I was like, wholly shit that's a lot of bud for the wattage!

Thank you, sir.
For $350, even if the Phantom CHM can only do 80% of what the SunSystem LEC is doing, I'll be happy. I know the driver isn't quite as efficient, and the reflectors not quite as bright, but at that price it's more than worth it. I do like that the ballast isn't attached to the light because it allows me to keep it outside of the tent to help lower the temperature inside said tent. I've got a fan blowing on the ballast to help keep it cool to the touch, otherwise, it can get pretty warm.

That is a nice option for smaller spaces for sure, any heat you can move outside will help. I'm considering one of the conversion kits to run the smaller 210w bulb in my small 2x2x4' tent with a similar setup, ballast outside the tent, no room in there for extra heat. I've found when I grow out seeds under CMH they always turn out top grade. Likely related to the fast maturation rates I've noticed when running sensi flowers.

Haven't heard anyone complain that's switched to them other than someone who tried to put it into too small a small space..
ears were ringing haha. not so much of an expectation as it was hope. tried squeezing another week of veg before the lec hit the flower room. wasnt gonna happen, so ended up flowering 2 weeks after seed germ as there were plants already in the flower room. its a test run anyway.

in general, loving the lec. footprint is what most people are claiming. i was little skeptical for a 315 but 3.5 x 3.5 is definitely do-able. couldve fit twice the plants than i did in that run. easily hitting over gpw.

Ive never had veg trichs under an hps, although its a chuck i havent ran yet. i noticed 'stuff' on the leaves in veg, thinking it was possible dust from doing work in another room. rinsed the plants off and didnt pay much more attention until the other day when i was watering. 4 days from flip, 3 nodes down on fan leaf(current run, 3 weeks veg) some early amber

past lec run, recently chopped. pics around 4/5 weeks.

couldve sworn i saw a new air-cooled SS lec come out. nonetheless, ill be buying another lec in the near future.:leaf:

Great convo everyone. I purchased my LEC and I'm in the process of building my LED supplements to it (a few CXB 3070s 3500k BBs around the perimeter of the tent). Hope to have pics over the next month.
Nice, two of the best flowering techs out there, should produce some nice bud for you. Cheers.

How does the SunSystem 630 compare to a SunSystem AC/DE 1K?

one is a 615W LEC system
one is a hood that can run 400-1150

so apples and oranges unless youre talking about straight coverage of the hoods

i know growershouse has a par map of the ac/de i dunno about the 630 lec

Well I guess what I am asking is how large of an area will the 630 light up? After seeing pics of the LEC light I am very curious as it seems a more quality light than traditional DE.
