I think that is a big issue with growing fotihr free is the cost. If you were going to do it for free for someone you would probably want to do it outside. Just cuz in a growroom its like every inch costs money.

I was thinking 'how much but would I have to grow to support everyone that was going through the chemo thing at the hospital and realized it would be a lot even if half the patients didn't even smoke. I know it can be done though. I always thought that it was pretty bunk that all the co ops charge so much for their buds. Its like if someone is sick do you think they have a shit ton of money? Only if they got a settlement or come from rich parents, or had a shit ton of money saved prior. So basically no one.


If you were to get sick tommrow, could you support yourself for the next year on the money in your pocket/bank?

The one hang up I see of the system is how do you keep people from getting free weed then just selling it too their friends for 50bux and eighth? I know when you are sick money gets really tight and all but.... look at my avatar.

there is no control. i see it every day with the 2 i supply. thats why it is hard to get a legit place, they see what goes on and it happens at all of them. techicaly your not even suposed to share your meds with antone.
i dont want people to think i`m greedy by getting good money for my stuff. i do give away more than i sell. it basicaly supplies me with my seeds and equiptment to help give them what they need.

Yeah I hear that. I don't know what too think. I know clubs are greedy. It like 'we'll we have to pay for overhead, rent, security (you want to feel safe right) and the cost of our little jars to put the weed in' but you see the owners driving bentlys and stuff and wonder where the money is really going.

If you own a club it should be like mandatory that you give like a half pound to the hospital or clinic. A HP is nothing to a club and it could go pretty far in the hands of the sick. just a though but I realize that it will never happen....

when you can sell $400 zips all the way up. why the fuck give it away for free. It pays the car payment. And the mortgage. All patients are able to grow, so if they dont want to spend large amounts on meds, then have the opportunity to grow it, just like all us.

Yeah I think the real key is not to be giving them the meds (maybe at first) but actually giving them the knowlage to grow their own. You know it like feed a man a fish and he eats for the night , teach a man to fish and he eats for life.

When I started growing I was going throu my treatments and it made growing really hard. Plants need to be watched everyday when you are starting a new setup. Unfortunatly I was sick for a week at a time. If some1 were here to help me it would have made my life a little easier. I lose 2 crops about a month into each on because I was sick.

It would be cheaper and more efficent if we donated gear (hps lights, fans, soil, ro water, etc) to sick people. It is just asking too much for someone else to grow your pot for you when the cost of an indoor grow room is so high....

Giving weed to sick folks that don't have any money would be most rewarding. I've read every word, but remain quite confused as to what the poster is actually proposing? Is it basically a Communistic approach? If this worked, wouldn't it be likely that the government would already be developing the plan, with taxation the goal?

I think it should be free for those in need. Accomplishing same is, IMO, a ways off. When the main MJM grower here (don't wanna say) was recruiting me and said he has "500 plants going all the time" and that "no one was complaining at 300 $ an ounce" I did some quick math in my head and WHOA!
I'll always cover my costs well and will have a great stash and would have no qualm about having license to grow 6 and giving 4-5 back to the patient.

Good luck w/that strangers dropping by bit. NEVER gonna be part of it, IMO. Maybe web-cam access, though?

Its just sad that they dont help out (the co ops) you know that they are making bank! They are making money to support themselves and THEN SOME.

I hope you don't share this outlook though. We need less people that are just worried about them selfs. That is just pure bs.

thats the way it works here. if i have 3 friends that are sick and dont know or cant grow we can get a permit for me to do it for them at iether my location or thiers. they supply everything to me and i teach them or just do it for them if they are to sick. it allows me to be able to have a bigger and better set up because my limits go up. i chose who to help and who can come around or not

And OD growing doenst work at the beach very well, So thats not possible. Being a caregiver is a get way to up those limits!

Exactly man. That is a good point. Say you know what is up with growing and someone sick comes to you and needs help just be like sure but you have to let me grow x amount of plants that I can keep. I sell ounces to dispensarys for $400. I normally pull 6 off each plant. 12 plants limit. = $28000 for 3 months work.

This thread was started to see how many would be willing to donate to the program... and to give out basic information on the program... and to get feedback about it. So far the only noticeable and important feedback I have gotten is... you would rather think of problems rather than solutions, and you are all mostly too greedy to look beyond the cost to see the benefit.
In the program there will be a reimbursement part that will make it so there is no out of pocket expense for the growers contributions (i.e. pge, seeds, clones, soils, nutes, etc.). Space, time, and effort are what is mostly being looked for for donation. $400 for an ounce of anything is a rip off, strait up. In my opinion, $300 is too, only not for the best of the best of the best.
If growers Want, then patients may visit them. If they want their privacy, no patients will visit them. How is that contradictory? Once a month drop off wouldn't really be enough. Stationary locations have a higher likelihood of being broken into and raided. 1/2 ounce is more than the avg daily dose, so that much wouldn't be given away. It is only to QUALIFYING patients that the meds will be free, non qualified patience will just get really good deals, and that will be outside of this particular program. Their will be realistic limits set for pick up amounts, and the drop points will be pre set in public locations (partly for media) and will only last for about 30 mins. And it is pretty easy to tell if patients are selling their meds (like the amounts they pick up increase, and they pick up more and more frequently).
I personally know about 30 patients that are completely unable to grow their own. Part of the design of this program is to reduce the street prices of Cannabis. Growers donate as much as they feel they can... though they must donate an amount that is at least equal to the investment of compensation from the program.
This program is not is practice, and nor will it be for some time. Right now is the beginning, and there are a lot of kinks to work out, and rules to decide on. Some things I will go back and forth on a little bit before I come to a final decision. It won't ever happen though, if I can't find growers like myself that are willing to donate.

And Bleezyg420, how about you pay my bills this month? Since you are making money from it, and me none.

Technically there will be no gifting of meds. According to the paperwork that will be drawn up, the meds will already be the patients, and all that we are doing is storing and time releasing it for them, just like a caregiver would.
