Need Some Advice, Ready To Buy Supplies

Ok, I finally have a place where I can do an indoor grow. I made a thread a year or so ago, but some things have changed from what I was going to do and what I am now going to be able to do. Ill have a dedicated small bedroom, so here's an idea of the direction Id like to go in. Just need some opinions/advice on what I need to purchase.

Im only growing for me and my gf. Not selling, not trying to have a ridiculous amount or anything like that. So, Im thinking 3 or 4 plants should be plenty...? We DO like to smoke down though, Id say we smoke, cumulatively, around an oz every 10ish days. Easily spending 4k/year on smoke. Im just trying to allocate that in other parts of our life, while not having to give up smoking.

Is the tent I linked too small for 4 plants?
Is the lighting sufficient? Do I need more or different types?

your tent is to small for 4 plants it could do 2 plants

had this tent for 4 years works great ......they are rated for 70 lbs of hanging gear (the tent u picked is 35 lbs i have had 3 of those cheaper brands they break zipper/corners/poles/flaps something always breaks) .....it will do good for 4 plants gives them 2x2 space to bush out and flower

your light is ok as long as u keep it on 100% the ballast might be dimable but there are no grow light bulbs designed for dimming light waves are off and u do damage to the bulb ....i like this ballast better i own the older one before the DE bulbs were common

built in timer select a watt (if u want to try more power later u can with out buying whole new ballast) ....single and double end bulb .......it just matters what hood type u get but this can run all the current market HIDS .....oh a remote controller so if u mount the ballast in the back some place pretty easy to update it( u change what settings u want in remote then update it to ballast it fallows the orders)....just always double check make sure u selected correct power for bulbs to much they go boom (like 600w bulb on 1000w energy )

the silver (unless u are making own seed) u can always order feminized already

the 4 way meter works until u learn after while u will not use it anymore

what u are missing is a
light bulbs 600w HPS/MH
a hood (se/de cooltube)
a fan for exhaust ( dr 120 is just that 120cf so a 400 cfm would do u great just use speed controller to slow down)
carbon filter (400cfm matched to fan)
fabric planters (smart pots)
feed system (go organic like the Go Box less PH issue with organic feed)

I appreciate the info, good info. Yea, you will have to help me in a little greater detail, but this was a great start. Maybe once I start placing orders Ill need help along the way for sure.

this is my all time fav hood it will cover your 4x4 area great....it is a cool tube so will keep the AC bill small ..........ok this hood is a Single end bulb

the bulbs u have picked are the lower grade ones .......they will work but u can get better lights

i know they cost more but the bulbs are better .....less light wave shift after that 10k house has been used...higher output

that is the quietest on the market it does 400 cfms and the speed controller will work on this type (the type u picked is called a booster the speed controller will not work on it ) plus it is 6 inch so it matches the hood to remove the hot air quickly

this is a refillable unit........the carbon filter will work for 12/15 months after that the active carbon inside needs to be replaced (u can not reclaim unless u have a auto calve ...700 f degree of steam locked in a pressurized container) so it is no good instead of dumping out the whole thing u only dump out the carbon and fill it back up for 1/8 of the cost of getting a whole new filter

as for the tent to make a powered intake u can now get the 6 inch booster that is 240 CFM (u will still have negative pressure in the tent so smell is under control)

Here man.....skip all of it. Get a six inch aircooled 1000 watt hps lamp and digital ballast with six inch ducting. Get a 2 six inch inline fans....one for the 4x4 tent your going to buy with your lamp...oje for the tent ventilation itself. Get a fan speed controller for the tent vent fan...leave it on 24-7. Get a decent timer. Get 4 to 6 3 gallon pots with saucers for run off. Get a bail or two of promix. Get a decent ph and tds meter. Get a simple grow and bloom base nutrient feed. Get a circulation fan for the tent...leave this on 24-7 also. Get the best seeds or clones you can find. Put all this together with common sense. Get a book on growing dope. And get your green thumb on. I say skip the 600 and go for the thousand watter rite out the gate. Especially if its just one lamp personal grow. Make sure you got decent water. And just bang it out from there. Basic no frills setup. Skip all thw other stuff.

that is where i thought about it for him

the ballast unit is one of those precheck prefire units

with the fans plug in the all running then this will kick on keeping the amps under the breaker so does not pop and step increases the amps for the light with out tripping the 20 amp breaker

worst case he might need one breaker for the light and one for the support gear
