So i started my grow today. i have some information on growing and i read quite a lot but idk if it is just my character, but guys/gals im lost as hell...

i started germination of my seeds a few hours ago using the paper towel method. i expect to put the germinated seeds with little roots from them into a small pot (ofcourse each seed in it's own pot). 1l0tall.jpg . so after these 2 days. is it correct to plant them into these small pots.

and the main thing that bugs me is how long do i keep the plants in these small pots?
when do i plant them in the bigger pots?
is it okay to put them under the light after they start sprouting (still in the small pots)
as i said i am confused as hell right now. i would go ask these questions on forums but it would be so much better if people could answer me right here... all in one place. i would be so gratefull. if you live close to me i'll send you some of the stuff i'll grow in the end haha

I will tell you what I've learned so far as I'm going to start my first grow very soon.

I'm going LED 220wat in a 2x2 tent so idk about your set up but this is what I found out.
-Once my seeds sprout I'm putting them straight Into the FINAL size pot (3gallon) in doing this becuase I've read that less stress on your plants is better and I'm trying to keep this grow as SIMPLE as possible (KISS METHOD)
- then I'm moving my 2 sprouted seedlings into the tent right as then sprout but keeping 24 inches away from the led

Like I said this is what I'm going for. A formula I read a lot about too is people put the seedling in party cups then once they have the ROOTS established they move them to the final resting pot. Just try not to move your ladies around to much. I'd say transplant your ladies 2x max.
Good luck

I start in 18 oz. solo cups, after two weeks transplant to a 80 oz. container, after two more weeks into it's final container - in my case a 2 gallon bucket - I grow in coco.

Those pots will do for a while, let it go don't sweat that. Just get the lights close enough so it doesn't grow spindly. Don't overwater! There's 100 different fertilizers that work and work well but none of them work if you overuse them especially on a small plant. That's a pearl

Are your seeds Autoflower - Regular Photo strain - or even bagseed ?

Regular seed strains are a bit more forgiving and can take a little bit more manhandling.
I would say no longer than a couple of weeks max in that container. If you are using good potting mix from the start - you won't have to feed during this stage , the soil will provide all it needs from itself . ( mist plant instead of flooding pot with water ). If REGULAR seeds then If you decide to " up pot " the container from these first pots then it will okay after some time ( 2 weeks max ).

With these you can run your veg stage for as long as you want before 12/12 flip. You can top , FIM or supercrop them into shape before going 12/12.

This one is purposely kept compact because of space ( no more room for larger pots )
But is a good example of what you can do to shape plant. I topped and took clones ( lowest branches ) giving a symetrical shape. Once i clear out some plants then i will go big again.

SuperCropped / Mainlined Shape / LST ( twine )

It already gone into Preflower (12/12 ) Flip !

Autoflower strains really hate transplanting ( i germ into final size pot from start 3- 5 gallon ) , Autos dont like any kind stress and dont recover as completely as regular strains - due to their short veg stage. Most will begin preflower within a month.

So i go , Straight into FINAL POT SIZE from seed pop ( soil ammended with MORE PERLITE 20% or so ).

I sometimes add a small plastic container to create a small humidity dome over seedling to give it some warmth and humidity to have a good start in growth.

There are many , many ways to do this ( every grower here has their method ) , but these work for me. Whatever way u choose - Good Luck and Welcome Aboard !

What size carbon filter are you using? I have 2x2 as well and the 6" is too big to hang so I was looking into a 4" for my next grow. I use a 250w CFL, 6400K for veg and 2700K for flower I believe. They don't generate that much heat either which is good because I wouldn't have room for a whole ventilation set up anyway.

I have a 2x2x4.5 tent. My carbon filter and fan are 4in each. I'm running 220wat LED solar storm set up. I had to have mine pretty lowkey so I went with led over hps cause it doesn't heat up too much and it doesn't take as much room in my tent.

What are the lumens of your light? I haven't had the chance to see how much heat the 2700K one gives off but my 6400K one has my tent from 72-79 degrees Ferenheit

Thank you all very much.
so the next thing guys/gals. i planted them in the small pots today. the big question now is when do i start adding nutrients. and can someone please tell me how do i know when the sprouts come to the vegetitative stage. i've read so much stuff in the past 2 days and nowhere have i spotted an actual picture that tells me when the 1st stage (vegetative) starts. i'm really sorry for asking so many questions but im really worried and don't wanna mess this up haha. thank you all again

p.s. i'll post pictures of my setup tommorow and my pots tommorow becouse it's really late now and im going to bed

oh yeah. i can't believe how tired i acctually am right now.

I really wanted to ask about watering. how much do i water my plants. i've read i'm supposed to water them when the top of the soil feels somewhat dry and frisky.
but im not sure how much water should i apply. and i have a growing schedule from plagon 100% natural.
how many times per week aprox. should i water my plants? :)

If you think their dry they won't be. Time tested infallible method is to pick up the pot, you'll know immediately if u should water them. I was skeptical at first because It seemed too long in between waterings but lemme tell you it's not. Every watering doesn't include fertilizer either.. repeat that last sentence again. Pick them up every time because sometimes they drink faster than other times.

Btw you can flood them if u want...you won't overwater if the plants are dry enough to be watered. Generally water until u get some running out of the bottom and then each day or two lift and see how heavy they are. You'll soon have the hang of it. When in doubt then leave it until the next day.
