Will LED lights ever....

Also, it seems there's a lot of people posting in this section saying they understand efficiency but don't care about it.

I don't think these people understand what the word "efficiency" means. Grouch made the best car analogy. Efficiency means more horsepower for the same amount of fuel. It doesn't mean better MPG.

Of course a more efficient lamp is going to yield more, hence all the journals of people showing those expected yields.

More light = More Yields

Simple.

This is nonsense. What do you mean by "them"? A 50 watt emitter? Against a 1000W bulb? Sure. But if you put 1000w of LED from a small source point 2-3 feet above the canopy the intensity will be there, apples to apples, and LED can do it with less wattage.

Additionally, even if the individual units are small the effect is additive.
WRONG, multiple emitters that add up to equal wattage will to a single emitter not be as intense as the single emitter hence you cannot hang the multiple emitter light as high, back to the law of inverse...you guys are HORRIBLE at math.

Just because they are dealing with a greater space doesn't mean that warehouse grows wouldn't benefit the exact same as a small grow would from led lighting. The efficiency doesnt change with a larger footprint. In fact, the potential to produce more per sq ft is there if you have the capital.
You could do that with other lighting sources too bro...and that's a method for growing lettuce...what weed plant can grow that small....

you talk about commercial this and commercial that................what OP are you running at the moment? or still growing out of tents in your bedroom?
Awesome, a video of them vegging out plants in a small area, so cool. Those spyder lights are crap. Pretty blurple color tho, so good for vegging out plants too bad that color is trash can for flower. Look how close they have those lights too.

Before this we were just talking about two methods of measuring. I can understand the confusion inherent in that topic. No reason not to keep things civil, but you tell me I need a physics lesson?

Please lay out the math for us. Or are you just going to "law of inverse" me? It almost makes it sounds like you know what you're talking about but you clearly do not, and 90+% of the people reading this know it. What you're suggesting is rubbish.

You are trying to tell people light height doesn't matter...maybe you need to grow some weed plants then you might know what you are talking about. Just cause you can assemble a light doesn't mean you know how to use said light.

I didn't read the whole thread, just skimmed, My question still stands as before on this subject,
Is there a LED unit I can buy, Plug it in and grow the same amount of weed as I'm growing with my DE unit? You know, not really miss a beat, I don't even need MORE, or BETTER, Just the same weight with a lot less use of electricity. If this unit exists, I"M IN. Just point the way.

No there is not, you would be buying many multiple units.

I kinda knew that, i always ask them LED guys this question when they start ranting on about efficiency and how led is already better.
When they can answer the question with a definite yes, then i might explore some LED.

None of them gonna give you a straight answer, they all blow a bunch of useless info up your ass so you will waste your money.

If the light is raised high enough that there are reflective losses then the light is too high. That's where the "law of inverse" looses light. Other than that, it doesn't matter how high the lights are. The inverse law doesn't make light magically disappear, which is what you are suggesting.

I never said it disappears, I said the intensity diminishes, you said it doesn't matter, you are wrong and clueless, stop talking to me you are uneducated .

Here's an example of a Colorado warehouse grow

https://www.rollitup.org/t/50000-square-feet-colorado-legal-rec-grow.883667/page-23

Try covering that 50,000 square feet with your LED's you'd have a heart attack when you saw the startup bill.

price out commercial real estate in SF vs CO, then you understand why they are going vertical

you think they payed the full amount for those ^^^ cmh fixtures???lol, same with leds

have you flowered with a bml/fluence panel ???

you wanna be spoon fed??? it's called RESEARCH, look around this section for info..............most tend not to help someone with an irritating online presence=== like^^^ yodatroll

As if you can tell me what to do. You're spouting incorrect information and I'm correcting you. I'm sure you would like me to shut up.

If the intensity diminishes, where does the light go?

I wouldn't waste my money with another blurple panel, I have multiple they are all crappy compared to quality HID lights. Pretty sure I have done more research on actual weed plants than 90% of you guys on the LED forums, I come with actual facts and you guys just bash. I am out of here you guys are all clueless and brain washed by your LEDs I have 5 different types of LEDs none of them are as good as the DE tech that's out right now sorry that offends you maybe one day you will over come your emotions.

No, I didn't need to be spoon fed to find out that gavitas were killing it. So I bought one and sure enough, they were right. So, is there a unit like that out now in L.E.D, i haven't heard of one, so I guess I know the answer.

Jesus Christ why do I have to explain everything to you, why don't you google it and do some math, the further you are away from the light the more the light spread and the less light intensity you get it is right in that link that I linked you should read it.

Your DE gavita(I guess) unit is a 1000 watt unit right?

You'd need multiple units unless you can somehow get a CXB unit that's 650+ watts or so.
And most units don't go above 350 watts.

The unit from pacificlight pulls 320-340W so you'd need multiple.

It's not that making a 700 watt unit is impossible or even hard, there's just very little demand for it so they're not producing/selling it.
