I'm so confused when it comes to ppm and ex what is the difference? Laimens terms pls
is that coralreefers ass?Not sure about ppm but stay away from my ex
EC is the universal measurement for the amount of salts in water. PPM is a basically a calculation of ec which is portrayed as a number on your ppm meter. The problem with this is there are different ppm meters that use a different scale. Some use a 500 scale and some use a 700 scale.I'm so confused when it comes to ppm and ex what is the difference? lol. I was typing my answer while you were posting yours. Intelligent minds think alike I guess. hahaEC is the universal measurement for the amount of salts in water. So 1.0ec on a 500 scale = each .1ec equals 50ppm
and 1.0ec on a 700 scale = each .1ec equals 70ppm
All you need to do is determine what PPM meter you have and use this chart. After a little while you'll figure out what ec your ppm is reading. Hope this helps

lol right on bro i wish mine did ec, mine is a 700 scale constant reading Hanna meter, it works well and never breaks but it doesn't have the bells and whistles but extremely accurate. I've always wondered about the blulabs and have heard a lot of good things about themlol. I was typing my answer while you were posting yours. Intelligent minds think alike I guess. haha
PS my bluelab meter can use ec, or ppm 500 or ppm 700.
Yeah they work good. My next big investment is the Bluelab PH res monitor and doser. Just kick back and let it do all the work for me ya know, but I need 4 and they are like $400 so I am waiting still...lol right on bro i wish mine did ec, mine is a 700 scale constant reading Hanna meter, it works well and never breaks but it doesn't have the bells and whistles but extremely accurate. Man, wouldn't that be awesome, I want those too, i figure my next ph meter I might as well get 1 because my ph meter already costs 200, so an extra 200 is totally worth it, maybe someday the tech is crazy nowadays, there's an app for some of the systems where you can dose from your phone!Yeah they work good. Yeah the tech is off the chain anymore. I am working with a software developer and an electrical engineer to come up with a pump controller that activates the pumps based on how moist your roots are. I have a bunch of parts on their way here from china that we are gonna start building our prototypes from. Hardest part for me so far has been sourcing out the moisture sensor, but I have a couple ones that could potentially work on the way. Can you imagine how great it would be to be able to select the amount of moisture that your roots get and then just walk away? Dud I hope this pans out!Man, wouldn't that be awesome, I want those too, i figure my next ph meter I might as well get 1 because my ph meter already costs 200, so an extra 200 is totally worth it, maybe someday the tech is crazy nowadays, there's an app for some of the systems where you can dose from your phone!
That's possibly the best idea I've ever heard. If you Make a working one, let me test it first! Or buy one first! I need that!Yeah the tech is off the chain anymore. Thanks man! It will happen eventually. You're number 2 on the list...after me. You can be one of my prototype testers. That's possibly the best idea I've ever heard. If you Make a working one, let me test it first! Or buy one first! I need that!
Hell yeah! This has me super stokedThanks man! It will happen eventually. You're number 2 on the list...after me. You can be one of my prototype testers.
