It was dark and I was fumbling around trying to find a golfball sized nug to sample. This is what i managed to cut.

Green light's unnecessary, just have a cheap LED lightbar or T5 or something hanging in the tent that you can flip on in the dark if you need to. Doesn't matter what spectrum the light is, the issues with light in the dark cycle are about prolonged leaks, not momentary flashes of light. Don't make a habit of doing it every day but a few seconds or a few minutes of light won't make a damned bit of difference.
 
yeah if I go to water my veg tent while my flower tent lights are off then half the time I'll forget that

Don't make it a habit of watering your plants during lights off. Arguably a worse idea than spending a few minutes a day in the dark cycle staring at your plants with a light shining on them.
