i do. and so does my neighbor. we pay employees by their worth to us. some are worth $140 a day, others are worth $300 a day. this is the same whether they are mere employees, like you, or they go out, get GL insurance, and 1099 themselves.

we pay less taxes on them if they go 1099, but they still get the same pay based on their worth.

maybe if you actually owned a business you would understand, but you do not own a business, so your input is worthless on this thread.

we do the same. we do it because we get paid based on how many windows and doors we can do.

if an employee goes out and gets 1099 status and saves us money, he still gets paid the same. the reason why is because they just made themselves more valuable. if we paid them more, it would only be to retain them. not because of tax savings, which is minimal.

No. Employers who pay w2 employees pay a portion of the employees overall tax, in most cases, half.

For example:
An employer who has a 1099 employee on staff, pays no tax for that employee. And that employee owes $1000 in taxes. That employee pays the whole bill.
An employer who has a w2 employee on staff, pays half the taxes owed for that employee. And that employee owes $500 in taxes. That employee pays half the bill.

So no, Red, you are wrong, once again, as usual.
