Vero V2

Guys, correct me if I am wrong.

The new Vero 4000k, just from looking at the spectrum, looks like the perfect alround LED for vegging AND flowering. (Except that it might waste a little more in the green spectrum).

I want to build a light with 4 COBS, looking at CXB 3590 3000k/3500k...and now the Vero 4000k caught my eye. It doesn't seem to be lacking in the red and also has plenty of blue? So shouldn't it be the ideal LED for veg+flower?

Looking at Cree CXB3590, 3500K and the Vero 4K, which would you choose and why? (For a bar with 4 COBS)

The 3590 (according to spec sheets) offers much higher efficiency especially at lower currents. The Vero can achieve a lower cost/PAR W when run very hard.

The way I look at it, the labor cost is almost equal to the parts cost and these lamps will either save you $$ or earn you $$, so might as well build with very high performing parts. I like to recommend CXB3590s driven at 50W ea and 95% efficient Mean Well drivers like HLG line.

As far as spectrum goes, I think the Vero 4000K 80 CRi is a great all around spectrum and same goes for the CXB3590 3500K and 4000K 80 CRi.

Any curve of the new 4000ºk DB?
Or it is the same than the other bin but with more efficiency?
And I guess 3500ºk is somewhere between 3000ºk & 4000ºk...lol...I love my 3500ºk it's almost magic...!...it grow alone...I use amendments and tap water...and it's a perfect match...!

Thanks Malocan!
More I look at 4000ºk curve more I think I am not always so sure about choosing 5000ºk for vegging???!
And I never saw the 6500ºk one's!

The point here is (looking at various spectral curves) whether "little" blue is really a bad thing. It could well be that, say, a 3000K or 3500K is just "perfect" and that cooler lights with "lots of blue" are actually not even ideal. Of course I haven't tested this.

It will likely also depend on your grow room and how you want plants to grow. Depending on the spectrum, plants might grow bushy and short or stretch. Some person might WANT their plants to grow tall while for another person he'd like them grow short and bushy, so this can also be a factor to find the "perfect" color temperature.

That being said I *think* the 3500K (CREE) is overall the best...simply because lots of people grow with the 3000k/3500k ones.
As for the Vero 4000K, someone would need to do comparisons of course.

Bonjour
Merry Christmas all!
I hope I will tell you soon the difference between 3500ºk, 4000ºk and 5000ºk vegg at about same efficiency!
I hope Santa's will bring me lots of cxb3590 and MW drivers plus the holders of course...lol! (If he don't I will! )

Output voltage DC 107v max is not enough for 3x vero 29 @1400ma
Also input AC 249 V min . not sure whwre u live and if you have 249VAC

Ok. So I took apart one of my China led lights and I have three drivers rated 70-90vdc 500-560ma. I'm thinking of building a seedling/ micro green light out of some Vero 10s or Vero 13s using these drivers. This will be my first attempt at diy cob. Any one have any ideas? Also am I correct in thinking I could almost run 3 Vero 18s off each driver? Still trying to Figure out this diy cob stuff before attempting to order parts and build a flowering light. Thanks
