3 gallon..... is that soil ok dude...?
it drains well, that's a good start, fabric will be great as you less likely to over water

bad points for a new grower
its rich in nutes and feeds the plants upto 5 weeks

its going to take the plant 2-3 weeks to fill the pots with roots
and there probably enough nutes to last the plants another 2 weeks after that

just have no ideal what level of npk are but this is very hot compost !!
( google it and it says "It is suitable for heavy feeding vegetables")

so maybe look for new soil....? i might use the fabric pots as have standard pots anyway... all are 3 gallon in size....

you said it very cold where the plants are, so i would use a powerful fan to remove heat between the canopy and the mh, keep a close eye on the canopy temp directly below the hood in the center level with the canopy as you may get the hood 6-8 above above the canopy and this will give you great results

my 600w hps is sitting 10" above the canopy but my room is very cold, directly below the hood in the center level with the canopy is 26c, edge of the canopy the temps drop to 18c and 4 ft away from the plants its 9c lol

lesart00 did you get any more perlite as this would really help your plants get extra air in the root mass
i have a 10lt of perlite coming during the wk dude....(call me frank) nearly all the soil i was looking at today have nutrients for up to 5 wks.....

may want to do a test run for a few hours with the humidifier and mh in the tent, see what the temps work out as ( if its 24c now whats it going to be like with the mh in the tent ? )
keep the plants in the cups till you get the temps good in the tent ( because if the temps go upto 35c+ you could damage your plants)
the plants will be fine in the dark for 6 hour indoors somewhere warm

when i had the 400w hps the tem is 26c-28c with a good fan....so temp is well under control....

lots of soil has peat moss, this has a very low amount of nutes and helps the roots but does hold water but at the same time its very light

http://www.planetnatural.com/peat-vs-coir/

a little info on peat moss and how it conditions the soil :)

they replaced this with loam, a 3 part even mix of sand, clay and compost ( heavy mix, strong in nutes compared to peat moss)
and they called it a mature plant compost ( its for re potting larger plants)

yes i was trying to show you the problem with the soil

if you found a mix of 50% peat moss and compost it would be a good bag of soil or if you buy some seedling soil with 70% peat moss and add this too the soil (westland soil ) with the perlite its going to cool the soil down and make it lighter, so you can mix your own soil up and get better results :)
