I have almost the same light, my drivers say 60-90vdc and 500ma. At 500ma, the vero 18 has a forward voltage of around 28 volts. 3 for each driver is perfect. After reading so much on these forums, I'm not even using the case anymore. Just the 3 drivers for 9 vero 18s, each around 2,000 lumens. Thats around 41% efficiency. I'll be adding 4 more vero 18s at 350ma later, each around 1500 lumens. 171 watts and 24,000 lumens. 43-44% efficient after the additional 4 at 350.Ok. So I took apart one of my China led lights and I have three drivers rated 70-90vdc 500-560ma. I'm thinking of building a seedling/ micro green light out of some Vero 10s or Vero 13s using these drivers. This will be my first attempt at diy cob. Any one have any ideas? Also am I correct in thinking I could almost run 3 Vero 18s off each driver? Still trying to Figure out this diy cob stuff before attempting to order parts and build a flowering light. Thanks

The weekend is upon us! I'd be interested to see the layout. My cab will be around 18" x 30" I like to keep my ladies short and LST. An interesting side note is that the 3 vero 18s at 500ma put out roughly 6,000 lumens and consume 45 watts. 4 vero 18s at 300ma produce about 6,000 lumens and consumes only 36 watts.
I have mine in a 17x22 space. A little over 6,900 lumens per square foot. The added 4 at 300ma will push the envelope up to over 9200.

I go by these sheets as far as lumens to %.What is the formula for calculating efficiency?
I used active cooling for the main light bar and I suppose the T bars might be considered semi passive or something since they touch the actively cooled one. Maybe they're just considered passive. Either way, the outside 4 lights on the thinner bars are run at 300ma. I used 15 inch heatsinks from heatsinkusa, their cheapest profile. The actively cooled one is their 4.8 inch profile. Mine is 22 long and is in a 22 1/8 wide cabinet. I should probably have a bit more wiggle room for the air to dump out of the ends. In an 18 x 30 cabinet (3.75 square feet) the lighting power of your drivers is going to be spread a bit thin for flowering but would make a good veg light.
I found some cheap 300ma 50-120vdc drivers on aliexpress.com that will drive 4 vero 18s and works great for side lighting. 2 of those and 8 more LEDs and you'd be well flowering intensity.
In my opinion, it would just be ink on paper anyway because Vero so understates the performance of their cobs. I know you are asking about the Vero 18, but the Vero 29 only under performs the vaunted CXB3590 by just 7%...and that from several forum members that have tested them side by side.Does anyone know the efficiency of an 18 at 300ma? I have to guess as the lowest graph I've seen goes to 500ma.
Thanks for the info on your light. It looks like a good layout. I've got enough drivers to run 9 v18s @ 500ma putting out around 19000 lumens if I'm correct. I think I'll try ti make three heatsink bars I can connect together some how. I think the v2s do a bit better than the spread sheets. At least according to bridgelux.
