As soon as that taproot shows put it in soil with the taproot facing down. Anywhere between 18/6 to 24 hours of light

I used a pair of tweezers to grab hold of the shell , how long after the taproot appears and you put it in soil will it break the surface ?

Cheers mate , so it will be fine to put it in my 1.2 metre tent with a 600w light in the corner ? Not going to fry the embryo is it ? Want to get a couple pinapples going aswell

Most likely no. Unless your tent is above 95 degrees I would say you are fine. Young seedlings generally grow faster at about 85* F

This is how I prepare my soil, using 11 litre pots, I add about 350ml of water to lightly hydrate it, put the pot in the tent for 24 hours to let it get nice and warm, then I stick a pencil in the soil, about half an inch in, put the seed straight into it, cover it lightly with the soil, then I cut the bottom off a 2 litre plastic bottle and spray the inside of it with water and place it over the seed, creating a humidity dome, it usually takes 3-5 days to pop from the soil.

There are some seed banks with guaranteed germination rates and I know of one that will only replace seeds if you follow this exact method and don't get the rates they promise.

Explain what? Sorry I was agreeing :)

People should stop being so impatient and just plant it in the medium you are going to use.

I grow all types of plants / veges. I just treat cannabis seeds the same.

Thought you meant what I said blows you away.

It's probably because the paper towel method was taught to most of us by middle/high school teachers who are clueless about how to properly germ a seed.

Planted in half a inch
Probably not Evan that
Did you soak them in water for 12 hours before putting them in soil? Soak them until they sink, this ensures they are viable, if they float after 24 hours toss it. Saturate the soil completely with water then place a pencil tip in and pop your seed n cover it. Then leave them alone until they are up!
Then plant it one quarter to half an inch, no deeper!

I did this water thing years back, don't do it anymore. It's not needed either and I had plenty of seeds that floated that germinated.

It just needs to go into moist soil, high humidity and temps anywhere from 20c to 30c.
