ROOT MAGGOTS

I've been having trouble geminating seeds . I've lost about 40 female seeds before I found the problem which seems to be root eatting maggots. I found a couple seedlings with white (no black heads as with fungus gnats) maggots that eat the seedlings from the taproot's. Has anyone had to deal with these and figured out how to exterminate? I have mixed about 50 cuft of organic soil and don't want to throw away if I can find a way to kill these BAST_ _ _S ! Thanks for your help

start u seeds in some thing sterile. seed starter mix?

Cool, at least you know the bugs aren't coming from your soil. I've never tried them, but Amazon sells carnivorous mites that would devour all of your bad bugs.

Is it just me, or does the name Chunky Stool just seems like it's the perfect name to find on a thread called Root Maggots? Could make a band with that name "ladies and gentleman, give a round of applause for Chunky Stool and his Root Maggot band"

Though I would like to see that battle of the carnivorous mites vs the root maggots. Winner takes on spider mites in round 2?

Thank you all for your response's. I have used hydrogen peroxide , mosquito dunks and fruit tree spray. I came home from work today and those MOTHER FUCKERS haven't slowed down!!! I'm going to try neen oil and if that don't work, guess I'm out 8 white widow , 4 white widow x big bud and 1 bubbelicious all female. And about 50 cuff of organic soil (about $150) I've fought my way through spider mites, fungus gnats ,white flies. But what ever these bugs are , I can't figure out how to kill the bastard!

Find their natural enemy as Chunky Stool suggested, then grab some popcorn and watch the war.
