Ghostrider OG - Ebb & Grow - Suspended Pots

Strain: Ghostrider OG received from @Aeroknow

Lighing: x2 1000w 6" air cooled hoods

Air: passive intake exhausted outside

Nutrients : maxigrow for veg - maxibloom for flower

Medium: hydroton

I'm half way through this grow but wanted to document it for Aero. It's a great plant, this is my second run with her. She's extremely hardy. I vegged them for 4 weeks in 1 gallon mesh bottom pots filled with hydroton. I also filled the tray with hydroton, this was a big problem that almost killed the plants on day one of flower when I had to transplant them. After a couple of days they perked up like nothing happened. I had to cut off 60+ % of the roots because all 18 plants roots grew together, I was not expecting such massive root growth. Live and learn. I am now a few days shy of 28 days of flower.

This is when I had to transplant to the flower room, it was a mess.


This is the ebb and grow buckets. The 1 gallon mesh bottom pots are suspended over the 2 gallon ebb buckets using 1 1/2" foam board. No extra medium other than the hydroton in the mesh pots.

Just thought this was a cool shot of the GR these damn plants are doing fantastic! I'm liking this plant much better than glue, it's a fucking beast! I don't think I've ever grown an og that has stacked like a damn baseball bat on some branches. I definitely want to keep this gal around

Day 35 update. Wooweeee! It's going great. 1.6 ec, threw in some Epsom salt but that's about it other than maxibloom. The smell is so good now, way better than last run, seeing lots of positive changes from the first time I run it.

These things are just going bonkers and loving life. Ppm at 1150-1250, pH at a steady 6.0-6.3 (seems to be a much better range for hydroponics than I previously thought). 21 days left. The buds are sticky as hell now, and the smell is getting very powerful pretty sure this round will be over 2lbs a light, can not complain about that for an OG

Day 49 - these things just keep bulking. It doesn't seem like it will ever end lol. I planned on taking them down in 2 weeks but they might only need one more week to be ready, I'll play it by ear. The smell and frost is just ridiculous and the tops are getting really heavy and starting to lean 1000ppm 6.3ph - I'm going to start lowering the ppm and raising the pH a little to finish them up in the next 14 days or so. This plant was a charm to grow! Could possibly be my best grow in a couple years, very proud

Day 49 - these things just keep bulking. It doesn't seem like it will ever end lol. I planned on taking them down in 2 weeks but they might only need one more week to be ready, I'll play it by ear. The smell and frost is just ridiculous and the tops are getting really heavy and starting to lean 1000ppm 6.3ph - I'm going to start lowering the ppm and raising the pH a little to finish them up in the next 14 days or so. This plant was a charm to grow! Could possibly be my best grow in a couple years, very proud

Thanks bro, and hell yeah I'm curious what those sherbs look like, do they stack as good as the GR? That'd be bad ass if they do, damn coors light can size og buds got me all mind blown lol, never seen any og stack like it!

Right on, is it the Blueberry Cookies? Are those the same week in as the others? I think you'll be happy with it from everything I hear about it, I smoked some the other day and it's fucking delicious, the high is a regular cookie high pretty much, but the flavor is top notch, coats the mouth!

I bet it would, I fit my system (12 buckets worth) in a 5x5. I cut small round holes at the base of the tent to feed the tubing through so I could have the res outside the tent. If you do that, hell yeah you can!

I veg in a flood tray and when they're big enough for flower I put them in the ebb buckets this system is modified a little so the pots I veg in hang suspended inside the ebb buckets, that way I don't need to use a ton of hydroton and I can flood much more. The roots kind of hang down like in an aeroponic system. It works well

Gotcha. I'm trying to figure out how it would work out transferring from the flood table to the buckets for flower. The system buckets are 4 gal that pop right into the buckets so I'm not sure how else to do it other than vegging in the 4 gal and popping it right into the buckets for flower. Is there any way else to do it?

Sure, do what I do! Buy some 1gal mesh bottom pots, put your clones in those with hydroton or whatever medium you'd want to use, then veg in the flood tray. When they are ready to flower, simply plant the while 1 gallon pot into the ebb n grow buckets and back fill around the pot with your medium, works great this way and no transplant shock
