I was wondering what everyone thought of the cfl light compaired to the t5 vho lights. Wich one would be better??
werdCfls are smaller so they can't get more than maybe 2 plants but T5 lights can cover many plants so they'd be the better choice if you have the space.
T-5's would make for a much more professional setup, and a uniform growth pattern.
Peace
i love this guy.I'm running a t5 system and love it. (160 bucks, with four 4' tubes -- 20k lumens total 54watts per tube)
4' X 2' area for your plants rocks. So much space, and uniform light. Minimal stretching, and the plants stem seems to grow straight up as opposed to a lot of other pic's I see here to where the plants are almost growing sideways trying to find more CFL light.
My whole thing was, if I'm going to take the risk to grow this shit, I might as well do it 'right'... No mickey mouse shit for me. Do it right and do it once.
It's a hard question to answer because it depends entirely on how you intend on growing. If you want to grow out a couple of plants to full size, you're probably better of going with the cfls'. If however you want to try SOG (Sea of Green) growing which is basically growing out just rooted clones which keeps their height under about 18 inches, then the T5 VHO's would provide an interesting and probably more effective alternative to either CFL's or HID systems. VHO T5's come in an interesting variety of colour temperatures and the PURple variety probably has the highest PAR output of any fluorescent system.I was wondering what everyone thought of the cfl light compaired to the t5 vho lights.
