cfl grow from seed

Got holes pin holes to let excess heat out ..????

cheers

Haha, you got it ;) Gets kinda warm in there, so I tossed an exhaust fan above the fixtures and popped some holes in the first, but ended up cutting squares out over the bulbs in the 2nd, felt like the loss of reflection directly above the bulbs was nominal and it makes a big difference on canopy temps :)
I would love to toss a few PC fans in the fixtures, but for now...

Warning RANT..!

Theres been considerable interest as to whether a grower should hang his cfl bulbs vertical or horizontal ...???

I've always been in the vertical gang, to ease heat build up of the unit quick as ...

However should you rip the bulb apart you will see a capacitor about the size of a pen lid 1/4-3/4 inch

that works like they all do, its full of oil, should it ever get too hot it will crack and leak

its its 'natural' vertical position it will over heat crack, perhaps leak..? but the bulb will die

extend your cheap ass CFL bulbs by using them horizontally , with thought to removing excess heat

quick as possible

thanks!

She looks nice, good job! Yea, usually if left alone she will focus on getting taller, but when you top she will shift to growing out those shoots to become main stems instead. I like to top so I have 3 nodes left, so I can use the lowest (normally a 3 bladed leaf node) for clones or just strip and bury the plant a bit more when repotting. Maybe just me, but I usually get a small gap between the 1st and 2nd node as well, so by clipping the 1st I get a tighter main 4

When the 2 topmost branches get a little longer I'll tie them horizontal until the 2 below grow up to even with them, then top them all (maybe a few times lol). That's my very basic version of manifolding, I fill up a nice 2x2 section of scrog with that style ;)
