First LED Grow

Thoughts on my first grow?

Details:

SOIL:

I made my own mix of soil to experiment, i think so far so good.

MIX :

Pete Moss
Perlite
SAND
NITROGEN (COFFEE), also mixed with water.
Calcium(EGG SHELLS) Blended into powder.
BENEFICIAL MICROBIAL LIFEFORMS- RICE WASH
ORGANIC HUMUS
COW SHIT
FISH BONE fert
and happy frog potting mixture

Light:

300 WATT Mars Hydro LED.

2 60W T12 Daylight 6500k Bulbs.(For supplemental lighting).

LIGHT SCHEDULE:

I have them on 24 hours at the moment. It seems to be aiding in my LST for my plants.

This is week 7 of veg for the rescue plant and week 5 for the rest. I plan on vegging these for as long as possible.

The Plants & Environment.

I have LST two of my plants as an experiment. The first, biggest, one is the first plant I had LST. It was a CHEMDAWG OG rescue from one of my friends house. Let's just say this plant was on its way out. The second one you can see from these next two pictures which are a day apart. Also Pay no mind to my other herb, its already outside now!

Enviroment: I keep my babies in the basement in an enclosed space which is about 4x4x10 or4x6x10, at a relative humidity, and a consistent temp of 77 Degrees,

A mars hydro 300 is good for flowering 2 small plants or 1 decent sized plant. I had a few runs with the blurple lights before going to COBs. Night and day.

the marshydro white case lights, had a first edition and second edition. now the white case lights are being phased out doing a fire sale. the first edition has a lot more color. I wish I could find I&II and light them up side by side. all the ones they are selling now are II's no sure what they did but the light is a lot whiter.

Any Idea what they are being replaced with? The lights im using now are giving me great growth and stalk thickness I was thinking about buying another because I've seen someone use three of these for a total indoor (single room) setup before. Also searched online and Youtube before I made the purchase.


Edit>: I bought the Mars Hydro 300 for $74 USD on EBAY from the Manufacturer. Last time I checked they were brought down to $70.

Here are some pics taken today. I had just transplanted the second LST plant(week 3) to a bigger container. I know the container i have it in is not ideal. Just what I had. I had already gone through all my other containers and need to buy more soil base ASAP.

you got some T8's in there too? looks good.

fars the mars stuff goes, they now base is now the black mars 2's they run about 50-60 watts more. and have a clearer spectrum. they have the better drivers too, same fans, heat sinks.

in the mars 1's they made two different models early had the single LED and late had the dual LED.

anyways its addictive, and you will max out your skills on those mars, and need to step up to more light. more light more PPFD more food more water bigger flowers!

Yeah man, you sure are right about it being addictive...and right about stepping my game up i feel the same way! Anyway, trying to figure out when i want to set these babies to 12/12 and get some product. They are growing more and more everyday.

drying and curing is a whole other operation, I shamefully don't often do myself, I know the basics but its arguably the most important part of your cycle.

so while they are in 12/12 read/find/buy/build everything you need to finish. its really an art all to itself.

@mommasmoke. I know that man :/ Getting the rest of my essentials this weekend. So I can finish up this grow. I know a timer is a must. I am just experimenting right now to get a good method down Update Soon.

That was a nice way of saying that you don't have enough light for all the plants you're looking to flower.

Well they are looking fine now. Like I said I had seen a whole room set up with only three of these lights. Since its only an experiment I can see what i can get...Like I also said ive done my research and fair share of youtubeing to know what i have here...

UPDATE DAY 5 OF FLOWERING:

Still feeding with Organic Nitrogen wash and covering soil with calcium which is absorbed with watering.

The mars is working amazingly. I am probably going to purchase a second one and expand my grow area. Soooon.
