Hey O.Dank...just peeked at your journal...AWESOME FUCKING GROW MAN!!!! You certainly know a shitload about growing.

There is one thing you may want to consider doing though....

How am I wrong? I've never had regular bean go hermie on me ever! Like I said 70% of the fems went hermie late in flower and had seeds.

I've been growing for a long time and I usually grow well over 200 plants per cycle.

Fem went hermie, regular beans didn't..

You can NOT say that my personal experiences are wrong.
Your experience can't be wrong, it's yours.

That is not the norm for fem beans. Many, many growers use them and report to grows hundreds of them with no or little Hermie's.

70% of what? One or two packs or hundreds hermied on you?

If just a couple strains then that's luck of the draw. If hundreds why grow so many if they are bad?

How long ago was this? The breeding has got better.

At what point of your growing was this?

Sorry man but my experience and others that said the same tells me different.

You and hyroot are the only two I've ever heard that 70% number.

Wrong again. That strongly depends on genetics. I have a shoreline x herijuana cross that so heavily indica it starts preflowers under 24hours and from the second set of leaves, it's not a auto.

Ok let clear this up. You have three stages of growth.

Veg.
Transition.
Flower.

Once you flip you go through about a week transition stage. But that's still considered flower.

I've grown 12/12 from start. Yeah it sucks. But but it only takes about 10 days for the transition not a month
You forgot the seedling stage.

How long from the time it pops from the dirt are you talking?

I never said the transition is a month. I meant it will take a month from the time it breaks soil until it starts to flower. Then you got 8 weeks flower.

@.ODanksta. Said you could grow a plant 12/12 in 9 weeks.

Your talking ten days to two weeks as a seedling, another two weeks or longer to veg. Maybe a few strains that will flower in forty something days but that's not the norm.
If either of you can name a strain that will go from seed to harvest in nine weeks I would order it.

Over ripe buds should not release seeds. That's like saying my grandmother will grow a set of balls?

Pinholes and minor light leaks should not cause a plant to go hermie. I've had plenty of rooms that were not light tight and did not go hermie.

And what you are saying is if I reveg it will go hermie..

I reveg all the time and no hermies..
They don't release seeds because over ripe. They release pollen as a last ditch effort to be seeded. Funny how plants will survive.

A unseeded plant knows its not seeded. It can and does grow pollen sacks to save itself. Not every strain will do it, a lot will.

Its called rodelization.

Yeah I agree.. 12/12 from is a joke regardless.. But I had a strain Shoreline x Herijuana that would preflower after the 1st week of veg..

Honestly my style of traditional gardening is to have a huge veg, so after the first cycle veg times do not matter..

See that's crazy, I was talking to my brother and he claims 25% on fem hermies.

I've let plants go way to far in flower (because I get way to far behind on trimming) I've let plants go 6 weeks to long and never had seeds..

I'm building my seed run rooms in the next couple of weeks. I'll definitely experiment with that. But S1's are the ones that will most likely go hermie right?

I'm not a fan of autos but I got some in a pack of seeds given to me from a fellow grower. I didn't know they were autos and one has been topped twice and the other once. Everything I've read states topping autos is not a good idea and now I see why. The one topped twice is struggling because it started flowering one or two days after it was topped the second time. Not enough time to recover so if I get 5-7g it'll be fine. I also have freebie autos that will be planted outside so it won't cost me anything extra and they should reach close to their full potential with sun and rain.

If anyone has topped an auto and still got a decent harvest, let me know. It would be interesting to hear.

The best way to do it is look for pollen sacs on over ripe bud. You would then use it on a younger plant so the seeds had time to ripen.

Its not every strain but they do it. I've never done it myself but I've never tried.

I've just read and seen pics of it.
