yes. I have been reading these.. many of these diy lights uses 4xcobs on one driver.. Thats why Im little bit conserned will one driver be enough for 5xcobs.
Ledder, you can run 5 on the 2 drivers I mentioned. I promise.
HLG240h-c1400B or PAIRUI LGSU250-1400D.
I'm PERSONALLY running 8 (2x4)CXB3590's on 2 HLG240h-c1750B's. The 1400 can run 5, 1050 can do 6.

I was going to buy the buy 3 get 1 free package, but the only thing holding me back is the older cob version
He offered me the same deal with the 6 cob lights but I declined the offer. I decided to go with Amare instead, ended up with a little more for less.

There is a thread somewhere where he was asked a few times what drivers he used and the response was high quality. That isn't enough for me. On the other hand I emailed Amare and in minutes he replied the models which were all great and uses all top bin LEDs.

3 Amare se450 vs 4 gg led 6 cob lights I ended up with exactly the same coverage. 3@4x4 vs 4@3x4

Also relieved better drivers, top bin 3070's compared to the unknown

Extra free LEDs- Combined 180 top bin cree's that make up the monochrome
This is also great because they are more for vegging so it's like 2 lights in one. They total 168 wall watts each.

Then the uv bulb that's not really a game changer but I'll still run it. Don't get me wrong I was dead set on the go green leds, I do believe they are a great light but I really did some shopping this time. Ended up emailing Amare dozens of times and really doing some thinking before I clicked send payment.

My last experience was much different, I saw a light produce and ended up dumping 3grand on much cheaper lighting.

What about the new model Amare is going to release soon? Thinking about holding out for it. I have a 5x9 GG tent I'm trying to fill

Why 40"? the 450 is less right?
Yes the 450 can go lower to the plants but it's only a 4x4 coverage. As for the exhausts I think they are real. Even at 50% efficient it still gives of the other 1/2 in heat. I assume since it has 900 in the name it's going to be around that it wattage so the heat can add up.

The new light is most likely designed for a direct replacement for hps that is currently ducted. Almost like plug and play.

I wonder if anyone has swapped out the t8 in the middle of the se450 with a regular veg or flower t8. My reading on uv hasn't convinced me its worth the energy.

I wouldn't worry about "older cobs" since they use the cxb3070, and really all that matters is how well the light grows the plants. The plants don't know if they're under 3070, vero 29, or 3590. As long as it's hitting them with the right spectrum and intensity you are good to go.
