What's the best COB for veg? 4000k 5000k
I really love your grow! It's one of the best looking I've seen in a while!ghetto rigged cob's working to advantage...super tight ropes rather than metal triangle hangers for easily adjusted light angles...chain link for easy hight adjustment .... a perfect blend of top shelf technology and ghetto macgyver ingenuity..
Meet my 1st prototype Photon 170 from Sep-Oct 2015. Only 2 units were made.Reflectors make more of a noticeable footprint circle, while lenses tend to kinda whisp the light up onto the walls and mix the light.
I can't remember which I got. I think I have the 80. Thick glass. I'm switching to angelinas in a few daysMeet my 1st prototype Photon 170 from Sep-Oct 2015. Only 2 units were made.
It had the 77mm glass lens optics. 77mm does not have sharp cutoff's. the 90 degree focuses light too much. 120 spreads it too much.
KB80 100mm does not have sharp cutoff as well.
I switched to KB120 100mm lens but had to design a workaround to make them compatible with Cree Ideal holder. KB120 100mm is the only glass lens i like.

what crimping tool works for thin wire cable ?I really love your grow! It's one of the best looking I've seen in a while!
As for those triangles, you can make them by getting some 1/16" stainless cable, some crimps, and a crimping tool. I use 3 crimps per triangle to make 3 loops. This keeps the panels from twisting vs just using a rope that can slide.

I'm loving my 80 degree lenses. If you don't want yours anymore, send them to me!I can't remember which I got. I think I have the 80. Thick glass. I'm switching to angelinas in a few days
I used these:what crimping tool works for thin wire cable ?
btw if you skip the top loop of the triangle and use a hook or loop that slides on the wire the bar can be angled/rotated. good for end of the row or side light.
cool thanks. if the lights aren't balanced then it would be bad to rotate randomnly.I used these:

I have the top loop there specifically to keep it from rotating though. You could permanently rotate it by putting the middle crimp in a different location and use those triangles for side lighting panels.
Haha nah I'll be using them still sometimes. I do however have 6 of them i could sell you!I'm loving my 80 degree lenses. If you don't want yours anymore, send them to me!
Ok since it's against TOS to buy n sell anything on RIU, please PM me your email address and we'll discuss it further.Haha nah I'll be using them still sometimes. I do however have 6 of them i could sell you!
Thanks that's my understanding too but if it just for veg only which one is best?My research and the people I have spoken with all steered me to 3500K which can be used from start to finish and produce results. With my COB in place now we will soon see. VERY happy thus far.
I'm going to guess 5000k. my logic being its more left shifted spectrum(B,G). I know very little though. Thanks that's my understanding too but if it just for veg only which one is best?
Use either 5000,5600,6000 or 6500K CXBs for just veg. Whatever is available. Thanks that's my understanding too but if it just for veg only which one is best?
Yes.I'm going to guess 5000k. my logic being its more left shifted spectrum(B,G). I know very little though.
do they make cxb's in higher K, like 6k or 7k
How do I come off to you. I just stated that it looked a bit immature still is all. Not developed and filled out enough yet.Yeah, it's coming down in 11ish days.
I just didn't see airwalkers quote til now and I don't like the way he comes off to people. Don't get me wrong, I am all for constructive criticism.
Oh wowYou come off to me most of the time as wrong.
