Stringy plants

I just started my seedlings which have sprouted. I am on day 6 I've had them under continuous light 2700 K CFL but I noticed that they have done a little stringy. I lowered the light to be about 4 inches above the plant, but no extra leaves yet. Should I move them outside?

If it were me I would fill them pots up to the top with soil. Giving them a bit more support. Keep them inside for now keep the light close to stop the stretch.

Pot up and plant them deeper. The closer the light the less stretch. That long stem area is potential root mass if planted deeper. I found the best way was to leave room in the pot to add extra soil as you go this way you don't need to repot.
I have 2 bulbs on the plants 2500 k each. Is that okay?
Fine for now you can work on that later. You have plenty of time.

I meant (2) 2700k bulbs..
The bulbs don't stack together to make 5000K the kelvin is basically the color of the light. You need to purchase little cfl bulbs that have more blue/white light. Daylight CFL bulbs range from 5000K to 6500K and if it were me I'd stick with 6500K. If you are having a problem with a certain strain being too bushy then you can introduce one of those 2700k bulbs in veg to help it stretch.

Its just a seedling (sprout) we don't know if it will be alive in a week.

That seedling sprout is extremely healthy even with the incorrect light it isn't dying in a week without a mistake. It will take a couple more weeks before the stem can't hold the leafs out of the dirt at which time it will begin to have life threatening issues.

The op doesn't need to buy anything to get his sprout into shape.
hey Dr Pecker, what's a good timer to buy? I bought one from Lowes and cant seem to get it to work right. I double checked the instructions and still no luck. I bought a Utilitech Timer. 5 bucks.. I set my times then set the current time, plugged the power strip into the timer and plugged the timer into the wall. still the current time on the timer doesn't move. I check it two hours later and its still on the same time. what do you think im doing wrong? Oh nad by the way the sprouts are doing great!!

thanks you guys

You can run lights 24/7 for vegging plants so I would say not to worry right now. I would go with a heavy duty timer with a ground plug. Are you sure the outlet is working? Maybe you blew a fuse of flipped a breaker. I've gone through two of these, one melted and almost started a fire
and one of these upload_2016-5-3_8-41-28.jpeg sometimes they will lose a few minutes here and there. Find one around the $20 range. These are good but need to be wired in.
Don't buy the cheapest thing you can find. I boycotted lowes a long time ago.

Mate, i realy don't want to be rude, but you got some reading to do. go to growweedeasy.com , and have some fun. you won't be asking silly questions like that anymore
and to answer your question : they are stretching, searching for the light. cfls are optimal at around 4-5 cm, higher wattage cfl's go further.

and idealy in veg get some daylight, 6500k or more, mixed with a little 2700k for optimal results
