Looking to set up a 2nd tent for vegging for quicker turn around for flowering. Question is what do people prefer? BTW I can only find 34w 4100k in the T5 and T8 bulbs at my local hardware store. I might have to order the 5500-6500k online.

The bulbs are double stacked. That four foot eight bulb is only 18 inches wide.

They also make a 12 and 16 bulb model.

T5.

I flower with them to. Eight bulb durolux for $119 with bulbs off amazon. I switched to agromax bulbs. Pure par bulbs, 10,000k+ uva, 6500 and 3000k bulbs.

More options with t5.

Nice man. Will look Into the set up. Just want to veg with them and then switch them over to flower with my LEDs. But as you were saying I could definitely use them as a backup. Thanks

Ya thinking about going with the 8 bulb model on amazon. Thinking its better than just buying $15 a piece cfls.
I have the eight bulb and six bulb. I've been using the eight bulb over a year and the six bulb is still in use with a friend. It has been running a couple years.

The reflector could be stiffer. Pick it up by the back bone.

It is worth the price. Affordable and reliable. I got it thinking I would later put Phillips ballast in it. I haven't needed to.

You could run them both. Mine has two switches on it. You could just run four bulbs. Two pure par and two uva/uvb bulbs from agromax.

The mixed spectrum makes for some good weed. The UV will really help put on tricomes.

What led are you going to use?

Already growing with LEDs at the moment but want to have plants in veg while I flower to save time when I switch them to flower. I have the Mars Hydro 600's (272+/-True watts). Two of them for flower (about 550 true watts total).

I regularly veg under T8's, strap them together on a bank of 6 or 8 tubes, 50% cool white the other 50% warm white, 4 feet long

vital you understand the light rays don't go any further than a foot...????

means you can remove lower growth, to improve venting

and keep the leaf tips within half an inch of the tubes

I have mine on a counter weight that slides up and down in a domestic closet with ease

I recently updated my rack to 6 T8 LED tubes that burn at still 50% less than the standard flouro tube at 18 watts(fucken crazy) not the 36 watts normal

although more expensive even more a shit load cooler than 'normal'

avoid the curse of popcorn bubs and veg under hps or even COB

good luck

Top of the range t5 units like the self cooling, programmable, dimmable ATI powermodule for £350 available in aquarium stores is what i have my sights set on next, certainly ive not seen better yet. I believe they have an led version too.

I'd be very cautious here, some time back I was looking close at some German aquira lights very expensive T5's
4 footers and was walking to the cash out girl when my eye caught the lumens expected

I changed my mine ....lol chicken out is me, not checking out ...lolol

the price was like 5 times that of T5's, and just blue and reds too

I was drawn to the possibility of there being enough light for coral to live in water

so the light would be strong enough ...

but not!!!

=Fail!

With your flower tent you could still get a single bulb t5 and get an agromax UV bulb.

You will like the results.

The 54w 4ft agromax UV bulb provides UV even at 3 ft away.
