nice I plan on making a charcoal filter when I put them in flower. Which I will fit onto a homebox xs. I also plan on getting 4 extra cfls and 2 led panels. I may have to get a homebox sm. But that's really no big deal haven't bought it yet.

right got the homemade reflectors done. pics attached.

i also bought some plastic cups which i may or may not use when the ag lids get to small. i've read some people getting good results in the first few weeks keeping the young things covered.

I watched Jorge Cervantes - Ultimate Grow 2 [DVDRip] last night. most informative and entertaining. If you haven't seen it try piratebay. I also saw the GrowFAQ link next to My Rollitup today (i know i must be friggin blind). read some very interesting stuff there as well.

one thing i would say is after having learnt what i know now i would have built myself a DWC with possibly a dripper system in the same limited space (a grow box may have been harder to fit in tho, i had to build the current setup in situ as it won't fit thru the immersion heater frame with the ventilation components attached). i saw some 9litre storage boxes with lids that would easily do three plants if not four. you could build that for less than i paid for the AG. in the UK it cost me £99, $160/170 at current exchange rates. anyways, lives and learns.

just bought the extra red and blue cfl 125w. got a bigger air pump and 3 more micro bubble stones and some digital temp and humid sensors.

checked seeds as well... nothing happening yet :(. i got them on two kitchen towels on a plate covered by two more kitchen towels and another plate. all sat on my cable tv box, which is nice and warm. i've topped up the towel dampness just before this post. patience is not my strong point .

I germinated in the aerogarden after 24 hours they all showed root. When u put the seeds in the seed pods poke a hole down the center of the foam ((I used a kabob skewer) and put the taproot through the hole it helps the root find the bottom instead of the top

i put them in the ag pods as plain seeds. i gave it 24 hours and checked but nothing, no crack no taproot. so i pulled all the seeds as it's a real pain checking them in the ag seed pods. thats why i then stuck 'em in the paper towels

Yea I know what you mean. I've grown in soil and used the paper towel method. Either way the wait is torture especially when u buy seeds. You can also soak one of the at sponges and put the seed in there and still use the plates.

thanks, thats a good idea about using the sponges to germ in the plates. i'll remember that one.

torture is defo right for sure. i'm just itchin to get going after all the effort i've put into the grow box setup. if these three dont germ i'm sure it will be me that fucked em. i got another seven left so all hope not lost. in my experience with seeds tho, germ is the easy part, it's keeping 'em alive afterwards. i don't have exp with ganja seeds tho.

I am going to be eagerly watching this thread. I am doing the same thing (mylar grow box + AG deluxe) but using the Sea of Green method with Purple Haze clones. Can't wait for it to get here, good luck!

woo hoo, i have a seed that has just sprouted. it's one of the two new ones i started to germ yesterday. no sign of anything from the first 3, although in reading up on germination, the common theme is NEVER LET THEM DRY OUT. which did happen one night last week, the paper towel was bone dry when i checked one morning and then i think i had the towel too wet.

what happens if they dry out and can they recover from that?

hopefully tomorrow i'll have enough root to plant it tomorrow but i am worried the towel is going to dry out overnight tho. any ideas would be appreciated.

second seed has sprouted, so i've popped in another new one. added a teaspoon of bottled water to the top of the towel and turned it over.

forgot to mention in the previous post that i have used food wrap to seal the plate and the bowl, and placed them on another bowl to reduce the direct heat from the cable tv box and placed the whole lot in a black plastic bag to keep out any light seepage.

right i got two seeds back in the aerogarden using the two 125w cfls on 18/6. still waiting for the third seed to sprout a root.

just monitoring temps now with the front of the growbox on. had to remove the exhaust ducting as it reduced airflow so much the air temp (measured on the side at the same height as the lamps inside of the box) hit 40c. last check without the ducting it was hanging at around 30c.

i've put two cups of water with paper towels in them on the grow surface to increase humidity.

need to look at changing the intake from passive to active and addressing small light leaks.

humidity 45%
growbox temp 30c
water temp 26c
cupboard temp 26c
