if you are talking small cfl and not enviro then i would say cfl is hotter but thats probably because cfl is compact .

5 T5'S ARE GOOD FOR MORE PLANTS AND LESS HEATS, Many CFLS for a few plants

t5 for stealth, cfl put temp up quick in small space.unless you go for small enviro like 125 watt.

That bulb is not self ballasted, it is only a replacement lamp, you need the ballast to fire that one. like a flood light to which that bulb goes with.

The 200w self ballasted lamps are quite pricey, I looked into that bulb myself. but opted for 6, 26w 6500k and 2, 42 w general purpose 2700k

200watt selfbasted, i use 3 of them in 2 and 1/2 cubic ft space

these are great they put out 150w but only use the energy of a 42 watt bulb

thanks guys but i have one more question. I'm probably going to get multiple 42 watts but can you guys show me how to wire them up so i only need one timer. I don't want to have to use individual timers for each bulb

Yeah you are going to go to the lighting section and get these light clamps and a single timer and get a three input for a single socket and plug all lights int the timer. o yeah please give me rep
