What time of day to take clones question.

I like to cut past the middle of the light cycle, after a watering. I know that plants produce sugars and those sugars get sent down to the roots. My thinking is that by halfway through their day, they have some sugars floating around. Then I make my cut and there are no roots for that sugar to go to, so then they get to work making roots. Not scientific, but still works

I like to give them a watering day before I cut because they'll last longer when I forget to spritz the plug. Invariably happens, may as well give them every advantage possible!

When you take a cutting it has no roots and can't take up water well, and can't take up and synthesize nutrients effectively. Instead of figuring out what the best time of day is, take a cutting, put in glass of water, under 24 hrs light, for a day or two, and it becomes irrelevant. I forgot/neglect some sometimes and they often still end up rooting in nothing but a glass of tapwater. Keep it simple.

Less than half a percentage of my posts are in politics. Probably about the same as you.

Nobody in their right mind and some integrity gets along with such a morally corrupt scumbag. The real problem is he doesn't get along others, besides his socks and a few suck ups. Let me give you some good grow advice, check out Bob Bitchen 's thread. He and the folks active in that thread are good sources for practical solid advice. Including cloning. Doesn't matter if you grow on soil or hydro, bubble cloner is the way to go for high success rate and vigorous clones.

Actually, in my third year here and I have yet to see evidence of Puke being smart or funny. Just a crude asswagon coddled by admin and sucked up to by similar.

To be honest with you dave i think i found out what my problem was. I was being a pussy. I dont know if you use rock wool or a bubble cloner, but i use rock wool. When i was pushing the cut stems into the rock wool, sometimes theyd find a spot that felt like dead space so id stop pushing, thinking id pushed through the bottom. After doing this ten or so times and then having one literally fall over after id plugged it i started to wonder how much farther i could push it in. So i ripped a plug off and pushed the next one right through. Turns out theres about an inch of useable space at the bottom of the plug and i was only using 1/4 of an inch of it. Id feel that hollow space and chicken out, thinking id pushed through, then that turned into my routine, and with no stem contacting the cube my clones couldnt root. So i changed my routine and pushed the first ten way deeper into the cubes. I really think ill get back to my 95-100% on this one, hopefully.
