Real deal Romulan?

So i have some Romulan beans that are said to be the real deal.

I plan to start germinating them soon and i was just wondering how will know if they are truly the real deal? It has been a couple decades since i had any Romulan so....

What are the characteristis to watch for while growing? What about a smoke report (i know its a little early for that...lol)?

did your romulan come in the original sealed breeders pack & how old are they?

No. But the did come from a reputable distributor and i got them about 6 months ago, shortly after they became available. I know its not the original, as that just doesnt exist anymore, but there was a backcross of it a long while back by Subcool, and those seeds have come up from time to time. Its as close to the original as can be got.

I hope thats what i have but there is no way to know for sure... but that can be said about any strain these days...

i attained my Rom about 6yrs ago, im not sure if they are the good batch before the genetics changed? i outcrossed it with about 5 different strains as well as incrossing it, the outcrosses turned out very good, the incrosses turned out very good in some ways...in others not so good, i grow outdoors & some years it will herm yet other years it wont? but the quality is all there as far as potency & terp profile...like a very heavy raspberry syrup, and the buds look just like as advertised, grows to a larger plant with many medium size buds spread out along the branches, bit slow in maturation, i would grow it more cept the herm trait is a worry, i intend to outcross the Rom x Rom with a C99 to make Space Queen, will use a C99 male & pheno hunt for non herm females out of a large batch of Rom females at some time in the future...

The original romulan is absolutely still around. Someone on here jdgreen maybe has an 89 romulan cut. I was running it a few years ago and lost my mom. Huge fat blades on the fans. Gets so frosty it cures silver/grey. Almost no green at all lol.

All pine and a skunky dankness!
Very potent, but can get a little sleepy if smoke too much.

Never had a raspberry syrup flavor?

I've heard about tendency to herm, but so late in bloom that it rarely had an effect on potency... so probably no need to worry much about it. I think this was a trait of the old genetics... so maybe you have the original.

I just heard that the original was long lost. I don't know that for sure though.

Just to know that it's still out there... and that there is even a slim chance I might yet get my hands on it somehow...

Yeah I also have several crosse that make up about 1000 beans I made with the romulan mom I had around for a while.

Rom X white widow
Rom X sfv og (bx)
Rom X skywalker(not skywalker og)
Rom X trainwreck

Interesting... i am told the beans i have were backcrossed from a rom x white widow...

Can you tell me how old Skunk is or where abouts ? I recently acquired some old genetics from circa80-86 and they look like a perfect mixture of skunk and afghan. (Grown two afghani and a few skunks before), but they all seem homogenous, almost IBL like except for the fact that theyre so damn vigorous. Im a youngblood and sadly missed all the good ol' days of the past like Thai Sticks, Oaxacan Gold, Etc.

well im not sure..as kmog33's description is large fan leaves..yes mine has but massive resin production where hardly any colour comes through? not mine, mine has very good resin but not as dense as kmog33 has described

im sorry i was not more clearer in my description, i meant a raspberry syrup scent, nearest i can describe the terp profile, but really my nasal powers are pretty well stuffed as it is

Mine comment regarding fan size was during veg. They thin out a good deal in flower. Mine always threw a couple beans. Literally 1-4 in 4' plants. Never saw nanners or anything though.
