I took an old 2 bulb ceiling light fixture, chopped the cord off a power strip ( 3 wire), and added 2 "Wye" (Y) adapters and a $1 store turkey tray for a super cheapo 4 bulb fixture PICT0011.JPG . I use 2 of them in my back-up closet grow box, about 18"x24"x30"PICT0001 (1).JPG

Edit: Also, these are cheap and work well for side/single bulb lighting ( don't overload the 2 wire cords with CFLs though, I think they need the ground wire for multiple bulbs). i take the reflector off personally, the ceramic ballast needs airflow to stay cool ;)

[QUOTE=" I think what I'll end up doing is getting a common house socket that fits a cfl and wiring an extension lead directly to the socket do you think that would be ok
That works fine in the UK but I don't know the power systems you use over your way. I would imagine it will work fine but check online to be sure. You could put a plug on a 3 wire cable and wire many small CFLs together if you wanted. Its a simple thing to do. Plenty of diagrams online to follow. The right gauge cable, some connector blocks and electricians tape, some wire strippers and a plug and your away.
I would imagine lighting and sockets run the same Volts world wide( I mean within each country not USA is same as UK or AU), but not been an electrician I wouldn't take my word on that!![/QUOTE]
Thanks very much for the input mate I think I'll end up going with that plan I spoke to my step father and he used to be a qualified sparky here and I asked him if it was legal safe and possible and was all good he is going to come around and show me how to do it , I told him that I wanted to put a light up outside my window to see the cloths line at night using a cfl and a house socket onto a power lead so I'm going to do it with him then take what I've learned and replicate with 2 or 3 lights I don't want to have a massive plant so I'm curious on trying just a single 55 watt

I would top to bush it out. During the stretch if it starts to go past my floro I pinch the stem crushing it just enough so it bends over.

I have a feeling that the forum is gone for good. No problem.

Here's a pic of a topped before 12/12 rooted clone, and how it bushes out the bud sites. I could of shown you a pinched plant, but that's gone with the site. LOL!View attachment 3710966
How many watts of light was this under because I'm worried about my plant getting to high I 're measured and I have a foot and a 3rd high and a foot and a half wide those plants look almost to high concidering I'll have the lights take up almost a 3rd of a foot leaving not much to work with

I wish I had some photos of a cab I build my mate years ago. It was a wardrobe on its side. , long but not high. probably 2 feet high. we put about 12-15 x 20w household cft, mainly 2700k but some 6500k which were 30 or 40w. he had about 12 or so plants in there, they never got taller than 9". keep lights very close and they should stay small. They didn't stretch at all when flowered. Looked like bonsai trees.
If they do grow high, keep tying them down

Now here's the little coffee table I want to use , not the best photo but you get the idea I was going to put a couple cheap pc fans in the top and my 10cm fan insideIMAG0513.jpg IMAG0527.jpg

I had one other idea I use the top as my wardrobe and the bottom 2 draws just have junk in I could move the shit out of the draws and break the bottom of the top draw and I'd have over half a metre hight and there's a power point right behind the cupboard I could put the fans in the back so no one could see them and it would be less work putting lights in also IMAG0509.jpg IMAG0510.jpg

Look. Just pinch train if it gets too high. I pinched trained girls at 90 degree angles with no problem during the 12/12 stretch.

In the pic is a girl with a minor pinch. Just enough to be under the 55 watt each floro tubes. She is the one in the background leaning through pinch training. The pic is from strain hunting, and dialing in the setup.

The alternative is topping before 12/12 stretch. The grow easy site has other trainning techniques.

@Josh kop Yep, the cupboard draws will work well. There are even DIY carbon scrubbers made using pc fans. I cant say how effective they are but remember a guy on here I think years ago when I was doing this sort of setup building one with a pc fan and a doubled up wire cup. Personally in this situation I would add ONA gel in addition to any air cleaning ideas.

I have just found the exact thread I looked at years ago with the design of DIY micro stealth carbon filter.

You guys have been so helpful I really appreciate everything and will continue to appreciate anyone who doesn't mind sticking around as I'm sure I'll have plenty more questions along the way and I can't repay you in cash but if there's anything I can do in return let me know

I would go Cupboard all day long! She will smell but with a combo of DIY filter and some ona gel most of it will be removed. My old buddy who used the layed down cupboard lived In a block of flats, no smell until right next to the cupboard. They tend not to stink as much as massive plants, if the smell is worse than you thought then there are small O2 generators (think that's what they are called) With a possible addition of joss sticks or few smelly candles or plug in air fresheners in the area you should be all good
