Lets Talk Lights

Really getting off topic. Mainly interested in lighting set up for clones. I read a lot of people seemed to be doing fluorescent...but I didn't like the heat the 4 ft agromax pure par veg bulbs put out. Was curious about 400w mh vs 600w mh on cloner machine. I already have both those. The fluorescent setup was 8 t5 4' agromax in a badboy fixture. The mh are in air cooled reflector

I have 2 foot t5 4 bulb over the cloner and if i was to replace the light i would use https://www.spectrumkingled.com/product/spectrum-king-propagator-12-led-clone-light/

I use 600 mh in veg and better off using something a little less on clones

So would 400 mh be to rough on cloner and clones? I can use my agromax if need be but will look into the sk...I don't have interest in any diy kit
SK is not a diy kit and YES 400 mh would be to much for clones before you ask yes 150-250 watt also to much

I know sk isn't a diy...I am looking into them for future. Didn't realize the mh was go harsh. Thanks for the answer. I'll run with agromax pure par veg until I do more research on propagoter

image.jpegHi guys i promised to upload some pics l8r on when i'w had the light for some time, and that I will do, I know Cree's cob cxb3590 are in the top of pop, but I decided to go with this light for a reason, and that's if I stop growing i can stil use the light in my "industrial deco" you know if I have to make a cob light myself it would for sure not look this nice, and if I decide to step up my growing I have this (the SK "closet case" ) for my seedlings and veg.
So that and the fact that it was only $199 when i got it.... And generally I was just quriouse about how the light was, after iv seen a good share of acknowledge growers saying good things about these SK lights, so, we'll let the pics talk for them self....image.jpegso this was the first pic. In the window no light yet...image.jpeg Then at last I got the "cc" 100w SK light, all the way from the States it's been sitting in customs twice as long as the shipping time ofc. But I got it and started growing only using this light...image.jpeg.
This last pic shows the two first of the three small seedlings you saw in the window lid on first pic, are now sitting in the middle (around 3-4 weeks from sprout, the 3 died of rot(overwatering) seeds are "deep blue auto fem." ))
The last 4 smaller ones I sprouted 1.5 weeks after and those are 2 "Tangelo rapido" on the left, and 2 "sin trabajo" .
All seeds are Auto feminized...
All in all I'm very satisfied with the light I would say that it easily could grow 4 plants from sprout to flower with no problem
I hope that I can put these 6 in a grow tent with reflecting Mylar and 2-4 small LED bulbs in the sides (the bulbs I bought from eBay (54w full spec. at 16-24 dollars each) and I think are clearly worth it...cheers all hope you can use some of this else feel free to ask....

And To Ramos015. If you want only a propagator light yes maybe the " mothers little helper" are the way, I just bought the "closet case" because it are fully suficient to veg. And can also bloom em if you want so that's it (also the "cc" came out after they made the "TMLH" and if it's good enough to veg and also can flower, then why not I think...

Also the propagator they have at SK aren't worth it....only for seedlings and first 1-2 weeks...but it's ok bright and can run the seeds up but ain't that big the small one I got are 12 w I think and are around 40cm x 6-8cm in width, haven't really used it all plants just went direct under the "cc".

Ok if you haven't got the news try searching on Specktrum King Led's they have made a people are showing grows (private not sponsored) on you tube and manny of the big guys on you tube as well .....thiese lights gonna change growing 450w beating Gavita fully cranked up to 1150w and they also have some compare grows with some of the big boys in led atm. Like Kind Led and others getting wiped...
Chinese High Bay from Alibaba and they can be gotten a lot cheaper
RIU advertiser running a contest to give an LED away has em,

I like the t5 for cloning then i switch them over to a 600w MH light for veg, after the month i switch out the MH for HPS and go from 600w to 1000w with my dimmable apollo ballast. seems like i would get the best growth with a not so bad electric bill.

It aren't the same shit inside dude .... Do you think that Cree would give then lay partnership to some firm that are faking it as you write it, using pre-made Chinese highbays, no please do some research before you post. Search on Remo, he is disputing this in a YouTube vid, he does a walk through of thoese China high bays in factory and spectrum King bought some of thoese "copy China lights" and broke it a part and totally looks the part, yea they look like em, but ain't the same heats inks are flimsy thin metal ain't close to the same, and different Led's inside, also the one that I have bought u can't even find on alibaba that's the 100w ( guess they haven't copy edit that yet) but read around and see some of the video's and you will understand... Got a pic from 1 of the 6 auto's I got under my SK 100w "closet case" this one I just took this morning for a grow journal competition .....----->

Ok, I hope it can show you that you can't always judge a book on its cover,
also there are so manny peeps now using em lights even Growmau5 are on them lights and he are one of the leading in DIY Cree cxb cob tech. In this community (which are the top of the pop in DIY Led tech (cxb's 3590)) IMO (because of overcoming tech. Assembly and full spec incorporated)
I dont know if he got a testlight ( a SK 600 the beast) (don't hang me on this, but I'm pretty sure I read it in some comments on the YouTube rewieling "the Beast" look around and you'll understand. Or just buy one of them China high bays you refer to and prove me wrong...
P.s. I'm sry if spelling aren't the best, I'm From Copenhagen Denmark, and when some1 tells me that I got screwed by firm charging double for a Chinese copy light, I get a little irritated, but when that's said I don't wanna have a fight with you or disrespect you, just so you know if what I write can be misunderstood...you are in titled to your opinion then just remember to write IMO after your claim. Anything else are misleading to peeps and personally even though I ended up paying almost twice the sale price I bought my 100w SK light for I'm STILL super satisfied, IMO. they've done something amazing for the community.... passive cooled warm / natural - white light opens for possibilitys to not only using as a grow light, f.ex. I'm thinking about making a walk-in terrarium / plant / grow room , with some plexiglas walls or something .... That aren't really that easy if your using HPS or even Red/blue - purple spectrum... Ok got a little of topic, is gettin 2 early and I Hav2zzzzLeep ....peace out dude ! And Grow with love not in spite...

Yea sweet it aint all about the light, but it is the basefoundation and thats why im doing alot of research atm. So when i buy my main light i will be happy for a long time. But untill now my 100w "cc" from SK are doing me happy its veg 6 autos big and very healthy, and now I'm 1.5 weeks in flower with the 2 and almost starting flower on the other 4, and if it keeps on....then what can I say the Led's should hold long time and a 100w for 200 $ doing 6 plants full to harvest, then I'm gonna be exited, cause I'm experimenting my self to and ain't blind to other things but I also HAVE to keep my electricity bill down and 100w light...that's just an old school sharp incandescent bulb....I'm happy for you, and great you haven't have to change bulb that often...
Oh and what I forgot are that though light are the base, it's the green thumbs that keeps up the stombs, anyways, I'm also looking at a lot more Led's f.ex. The PS 1000 from this guy Neil from www.growpotcheaply.com ! Are looking amazing but one thing I like until now and will always favor are that there ain't no moving parts in the Spectrum Kings lights,
No fans or stuff that can break, just adds to the possible 10 years lifetime, one can always hope...
Anyways, I would love to se some pics from your grows with the 600 Hps your doing...!
Cheers m8 !
I'll just have to take a picture, ..ain't that's what it's all about, that you can be this happy even if it's me with my led or you and your loooong living 600 Hps, Cheers G-rob333

Everybody knows about the SKs already, at least anyone who has been following along in forums like this for any length of time. There's nothing special about them. It's not a specially designed plant growth spectrum. It's just a white high bay. Cree has a thing they call TrueWhite, which is adding a few reds and ambers to the standard whites. If you compare the spectrum of the SKs, right from the meter Brendan holds under them, to normal Cree warm white (3000k) you'll see they're identical. Then when you look at the prices you find that they're about 50% more than the same wattage of CXB high bays.

The CXB high bays only come in a maximum of 240w, but they only cost a little over $400. And believe me, you don't want more wattage than that in one fixture because 240w is plenty hot as it is. So anyway, you just get 2 of them and you have 480w for $800 something while a 400 or 440W SK goes for about $1200. Why throw $400 away and get a big hot, bulky and heavy fixture when you can get nice compact and lighter 240w CXB high bays? The SKs are okay, just not anything special, and overpriced compared to CXBs. BTW, I took the big aluminum reflector off mine. Not necessary and acts too much like a heat lamp.

Are you using T5 fixtures with the ballasts in them? Because the ballasts put out a lot of heat and you complained about the heat. You just put the ballasts outside the grow area and use longer wires.
