My plant is looking deformed...

It's looking like my plant is taking the short bus. The leaves look as green and as healthy as anything.. But just growing unproportional and weird. Don't know if it's the strain or genetics... Tips? Or play it out?

Ph is at a nice 5.9/6 humidity is good air flow is good... Quarter strength nutes...
I don't know what could be the cause.

Several things.

First, quit feeding. See those first set of round leaves? Cotyledons. They feed the seedling until they shrivel and fall off.

It looks too dry and too small of container.

Looks like it was over watered at some point.

Up pot to bigger pot with moist soil and leave alone for a little while. At least a week.

I'm growing with hydroponics, so the size of the "pot" is the size of the pot that came with my grow box. The roots should be support and some fishing line maybe. It shares a reservoir with a 4 week old plant that is absolutely taking off, which is why it's sharing some nutes. As far as underwatering/overwater I'm not sure how I can control too much, since it's not a drip feed system.

Scratch that then.

Not sure. How do the roots look? Air stone working good?

In dwc I severely doubt it's overwatered
What are your res temps? If one is doing great and the other is not then you may want to think about separate res systems or try for a balance on the 2 some plants just like different things, I grow multiple strains at a time which is why I still hand water, thinking sips for the future though

I'm not sure of the water temp I'll be getting a meter any day now. I have some more pictures below. Today the plant is making progress but still looks odd. I also went ahead and took some pictures of the root coming out the bottom, does it look like root rot? A little slimy? If so, do I lower the water level a bit so the whole root is not submerged? (Help up the plant for the picture of course) I came home to a 7.2pH I immediately fixed it. Air stone is shooting more volume of little bubbles than it would usually do, compared to less bigger sized bubbles. I also added a picture of the girl that's growing right next to the slow one, obviously she looks great. The straw sliced down the middle support I used looks a bit niggerrigged but that's because her stem was so thin she pulled towards the light the first few days of growth. Will come off soon.

Probably the pH along with water temp.

I must find the source but are you sure one shouldn't feed til they fall off? I've had a plant or two that had cotyledons well into the vegetative stage before turning yellow and falling off. Not many people seem to know but they also perform photosynthesis like the rest of the plant and draw from initial nutrient reserves inside the plant. Not saying you're wrong but people don't need to look at them as strictly feeder leafs as they are more than that.

I have changed my mind. I missed the dwc part.

No temp gauge on the water and high pH.

Need a chiller. Yea it cost money and adds to the electric bill.

Its why I'm organic. It not that I'm against proper use of synthetics. I have a mini farm and organic is free.

I guess the frozen water bottle would help.

Putting the buckets on the cold floor and insulating would help.

Now do you guys think "light-proofing" the net pots would be a big help? Even if not root rot any other problems in the future? There is obviously big gaps and open air between net pots and the reservoir. I'm sure the LED is BLASTING down into the water one way or another. Although heat is not a problem from the LED.
