The Santa Fe is gonna be cheaper no matter what though.
Yeah I can see that.

Been in touch with my hydro guy - best he can do is $1350 on a Quest 110. Retail seems to be around $1500. Good deal you reckon? These fellas are the sh*t so I support them as often as poss.

Look for the 105. It really is much more effecient. The 110 pulls over 7 amps, the 105 pulls right around 5.

2 extra amps for 5 extra pints isn't worth it.

Hydro can do the 105 for $1800 and obviously i'm very tempted, but i'm already stretching to make the $1350. I mean really stretching.

I understand. Sacrifices must be made, just don't make them on environmental controlls. You'll regret it big time.
Also size is a factor: The Q110 = 85lbs, L26 x W15 x H20” and the 105 is a whopping 140lbs, L38 x W20 x 21”.

How do you even get this on the ceiling?! Winch it up?

OK so i'm set for a commercial unit, I've ran the numbers on efficiency and running costs and they prove themselves all the way. Not that I didn't believe you guys or anything, I just like to prove it on paper too.

Quest and Santa Fe appear to be the same manufacturer with different badges, but only Quest will warranty for grow ops. They clearly add that into the price though and as much as I want it I really can't stretch to the Quest 105 right now.

Anyone running with the Santa Fe Advance 2? Decent price here and free shipping: http://www.sylvane.com/santa-fe-advance-dehumidifier.html

309CFM, 90 pint, 640w = 6 pints/watt. At $1,4k I reckon I can stretch.
You crunched them numbers on efficiency didnt ya? Lol. I did too and its a no brainer. Glad to see you come around. Sticker price shock is a bitch for real deal.dehueys and air conditioners. But yeah...sante fe and quest are pretty standard brands for real growrooms. That Quest model that Carolina is talking about is bad ass and really efficient. That Advanced 2 i know nothing about. If you cant afford the extra 400-500$ then the 110 will work. Especially if youve always used cheapo units. Any of the commercial ones are just in another league. But yeah...5 extra pints for 2 more amps isnt all that great. Amps are prime real estate when stepping up your game. I know its a bitch to move around but can you upgrade to rhe more efficient Quest 105 after a couple crops?

I'm just gonna drop on it now and have done with it. Thanks for your input though - definitely helped a decision along and we all know its the right one. :bigjoint:

That's what we did...winch..made a frame for it and used eye bolts and chain links.

Nice. Thats how ya do it. Like my control board outside my rooms....the mini split..co2 system...and all the other "hard goods". Once you set these dealys up....you forget about them and that they are even there. Let the appliances do what they do. I take it for granted when i visit other peoples rooms in town and they are bitching about temps and humidity and i forget they dont have the rite equipment alot of times. Thats how much i dont notice the big boxes i got to control my climate.

Yup if your gonna do it...you need quality and professional equipment. Or it's always a compromise and things are struggling. I understand not everyone can do it to this level. It takes space and cash.
But the good thing is cannabis can be grown at so many different levels. Making it available to the most common man or woman.
I need CO2 next any suggestion on what to buy?

I went the propane / gas burner route a few years ago. Went back to tanks for simplicity even though i go through a tank in about 10 days. Them burners throw out heat and moisture that i didnt like. I didnt have a decent dehuey or mini split at the time. Now that i have those i can run a burner no problem....just dont wanna go rebuy one. Tanks are fine for me....although they cost more in refills. I got one of them double hook up tank regulators where as soon as one tank empties i just switch over to a full one. Works for me. But i suggest a burner for any room over 2 or 3 thousand watts.

My CO2 tank is piped to the oscillating mouth of the mini split head. I have been thinking about rigging a SCROG with PVC pipe and pushing the CO2 through the drilled holes for the string/net to deliver CO2 directly to the plants but the Atlas CO2 controller enriches the atmos up to 1500ppm so I don't suppose this design would be all that functional/efficient.

I see you use tanks huh...ok. I used to do that in the 80's but haven't used co2 since then. Is that like a typical BBQ sized cylinder ? I used to get the big welding sized tank. Lasted a bit but my scale of growing was smaller then.
In this case I have NG right in the room and can use it. Plus here in Ontario it's quite cheap. Ya I'm concerned about heat s as well . Didn't think a burner would make any moisture though...I dunno.
I've been looking at the Auto Pilot setup. Looks as good as any. I dunno...all new to me actually in this config. I have the valve and timer setup before. Anyway i'll always have some NG coming in so it's easier that way. Just hate the extra heat and at this point don't know how much heat it will make either. I'd need an 8 buner unit so it seems it may be a lot of heat. I dunno

That does sound interesting to feed the co2 right into the foliage with pipes. I bet they'd love that and use it better as it seems more efficient . It seems filling the room would take longer as it mixes instantly with the room it....Just thinking out loud

I use the 20 lb tanks (i think....definitely not the tall 50 pounders). Anyways i zip tie the distribution tubing with barbed tees to make a mnifold sort of dealy to the cage of my wall mount fans. The solenoid itself is hooked to a co2 ppm controller. I set mine at 800 to 1200 ppm max depending on stage of crops.
