I was gifted 7 cf bags of pro-mix ultimate organic vegetable and herb mix, anyone ever use this stuff? I'm thinking of doing a run with it for the hell of it but don't want to waste my time if its problematic.organic_vegetable_mix_M (1).jpg

I used this mixed with compost and manure for my outdoor plants, they seem to like it.Don't use it for seedlings, they didn't like it.Indoors I'm trying Dr Earth black soil,it seems to be very good!

I think im gonna give it a go, im just debating if i should run it without extra amendments, maybe a little more perlite and some oyster shell flour...i guess i gotta see how it runs first.

@nmibud good to know! Ill shoot for a 2 week transplant but ill pop a bean on the side just to see how it takes.

Absolutely my friend. Im gonna give some a shot as well. I too think chunky perlite is an excellent addition.

I mixed it 2 buckets promix ,1 bucket compost and manure and 1 bucket perlite.I also add Mother Earth meal mix,Dr Earth nitro big for veg.I use Dr Earth golden bloom for bloom with bat guano ,bloom meal mix and a little wood ash. I have had good results.

Depends if you're on the east coast or west coast. East coast supplies use pine bark for a filler, so add a little more dolomite to the mix. I would also screen it before use as it can contain large chucks of organic material.
Also adding extra perlite is helpful from my experiences with it.
I mix it 50/50 with Ocean Forrest add a cup of dolomite then add perlite at about 20% then throw it in my cement mixer and let it mix.

Ok fuck it, i made 5 5 gallon pots cut with perlite/oyster shell flour/chicken shit/earthworm shit/compost/dry kelp/vermiculite and alfalfa and i put it aside untill i get some veg time.
Then i made 5 half gallons cut with just 30% extra perlite and planted some kush varieties, i left some perlite on the bottom because i know those fuckers will float back up in no time lol, We'll see if the beans can take it while i build my new room for the time being.20160810_204150.jpg
