Watch the pretty pictures, and listen to the words of our Gov at the UN. You will see and hear in the video how easy it is to back out of a UN treaty. Now, if only Obama had some balls he could do it right now. Come Nov, you can say goodbye to any hope the US had for Fed legal MJ...at least for the next 4 years.

I'll bite, I haven't eaten troll for a while. Like most media outlets, there are typos on the Telepromter. FACT...there is NO decriminalization before legalization. Peeps are still getting busted for simple possession up here.

The law will be tabled next Spring and it MAY take until 2018. The new law has to make its way thru Parliment, then the senate....BUT our current Admin holds a majority, so it will likey be law before the end of 2017....IMO.

Canada already notified the UN that were out of the treaties (we even told them in person as a courtesy)....AND just for good measure JT went to the White House to inform POTUS of our intentions to fully legalize MJ.

Obama didn't threaten to send the DEA jack-boots across the border into our sovereign nation when he was duly informed of opting-out...because he can't. The US only invades middle eastern sovereign nations, nothing to see up here but snow, igloos...and soon, legal weed.

You really need to educate yourself if you wanna argue Canadian politics in the Canadian subforum. You ever hear of that Google thingy on the Interwebs?

@BobCajun is just another guy from 'Merica trying to tell us about Canada and what's happening with our laws without ever looking into it...if he'd googled "countries where cannabis is legal" he would have seen there are places that already have done it and remained in the UN.
instead of showing any courtesy we get anger and name calling. since he was proven very wrong he's taking his toys and going home.
if you want to ask questions BobCajun, do it in a manner that is friendly instead of "telling how it is and that it's wrong" we already know it's wrong and that's why we fight the Government...not each other. there's enough of that already. we'd welcome your positive input but not spewing things you don't know anything about....like decrim-that have never been on the table. google Canada's legalization plans. if you don't want to take the time to google it, why come here with an attitude?
