Photos vs Autos

How many days from seed on average does it take to grow photos? Roughly of course I understand strains are different.

My autos went quick under 20/4.

I want to try a photo scrog for the first time and I'm wondering if the increase yeild could offset increased electricity or if there is more electricity used to grow photos vs autos in the first place??

To get the best from autos they need 18/6 or 20/4
All that extra light energy negates any time saved IMO just stick with photos
Im with this guy. in my limited experience witht the few autos ive ran, i personally dont like the incosistencies between plants since they're all fron seed.

Photo's rule quality......More so for the underground breeder net.
Auto's are geared towards the mass market for the more novice grower......Money is being made there by breeders in it purely for the cash - or you wouldn't see them progressing.
Still - the dedicated underground world makes things many have never heard of, much less tried......Much does reach the surface.....Yet many are still clone-only and not very wide spread. some of those get watered down and even some are "copied" and not true originals - simply look at "Girl Scout Cookies" for that as a good example among the many!
I always kind of marveled at how many growers say "I've got this from XYZ seed breeder, and it's the real shit". In reality, it's not, and pissing match's begin......

Not this shit again...

Grow whichever you prefer. Under optimal conditions for each, theyll come out roughly equal. Now of course this doesnt take much consideration into differences between strains but you should get the idea.

The sad thing is, it really wouldnt be that hard for the well set up people to do small experiments or case studies. But in that sense its almost a sort of "trade secret" at that point. Why would they do the work and disseminate it for free among their peers/competition?

to answer the op's question, you can veg a photo for how ever long you want.. 30 days to anymore than 30 would be considered a typical veg period for a photo period plant, depending on what the grower is wanting to get out of the plant, numbers wise, space available, plant limits, so on and so on.
indica's can take about 8 weeks or so to flower.. i've heard of faster flowering plants than 56 days, but i've not really run into any strains i'd call finished in under the 8 week flowering time, and sativas can go from any where from 8 weeks, for the pretty fast flowering cindy99, all the way up to 20 plus weeks for some long flowering land race sativas and hazes..

I pump more weight with auto's
Any recommendations? I've grown one it was called roadrunner and it sucked bad, but it was a long time ago it might've been some grower error maybe. Really though they look a lot better than they did ten years ago. I might give em a try my next seed purchase.
