I bought 5. And I've used them all. First one came out looking broken, second one ended up with a nute burn, one didn't pop.. and the last 2 I planted at the same time, and kept the "strongest" as my current one. Not very efficient, but now I know what to do and what not to do.. ^^

Interesting, you couldnt veg out both of them and decide later ?

What's your sprouting method? I've had great success with just planting the seed straight in coco with some stretch wrap ontop. Usually break ground in 2 days

Yeah I probably should have done that, now that you mention it..

But now my method is: Put seed in shot glass with water until taproot shows, Wet jiffy pellet, plant seed, cover with jiffy - put in plastic container and let it be nice and humid in there.

But for the first ones I didn't keep humidity up. Which is important.. And the first ones I planted directly in jiffy, without the shot glass..

Well, I think I got the method down now. For future grows! I wish I could get rapid rooters though. Heard so much good about them. But then again, I doubt it makes a big difference if you just keep the temperature up, humidity up, and keep them in the dark.

Just an FYI but my last PH meter was $28 and EC was about the same, I've always bought blue lab or Hanna and this eBay special has been the best so far lol.[/

Could be genetics , my blackjack from nirvana took off and never slowed down. I was thinking the BD was gonna be the same way lol.

Lesson learned can't judge every Strian the same way. Commonsense duh!! Haha

Yeah, I'm broke. Not happening ph test kit works for now, and following a true and tried nutrient dosage chart must work.. I hope..

Simple is a good thing man. I went 35 years without a meter and it works, just don't push the nutes and it's all good .

Second day 12 update - 27c 50%rh. I just transplanted into the 5 gal smart pot. And seemed like the timing was perfect. It wasn't root bound, but there were plenty of root action going on. Looked like they had been thriving.

Also, gave the plant a nice feed before transplanting, and poured the remainder of the nutrient water on the coco in the new container so it was nice and moist for transplant.

Now to the next question. When to top? (Obviously not within the next days, no stress on the plant)

I will wait. But, why is my plant so short and bushy? When I look at other peoples plants they have stem between the nodes. Mine is just like node stacked upon node stacked upon node, without any stem in between.

Maybe its a more indica leaning pheno? Out of all 5 of my hso BD's I got 1 pheno that was short and stacked like that. Just a random quess. I subbed up to your thread and will be watching, best of luck!

It's not a bad thing at all, you will see as the plant matures the growth rate will accelerate. Trust me you would rather have close internode growth rather than spindly wiry plants

Day 13 - 28c 55% rh. I've started putting a frozen water bottle in the tent during the day, it helps lower the temperature a degree or two. It's like a poor mans air condition. The night temps are fine. Just very hot outside lately. It seems like the transplant went fine, but the new growth has a very slight discolouration? I'm not sure if it means something, but I raised my lights a bit, in case it was a light burn.

You'll come to appreciate that structure when you get into the stretch . Every strain I grow typically is space challenged, I really need to start training better .

Day 14 - 27c 50rh% - Bushy bushy bushy. The transplant seems to have worked fine. I'm loving that I don't have to water as often, peace off my mind. It kind of looks like it's sprouting pistils. But I reckon they're new leaves or what?

I wish.. Well, I only got 5 feet total, so I gotta be careful.

When is the stretch? And I was considering some training, but I don't think it will be needed if I'm just careful when to flower, and I top it once.. or maybe twice?
