Why do you newbs always grow auto's?

12/12 photoperiod from seed will produce same results, but better quality than auto-fem (if all other conditions are the same)
Save $ on electricity + with better bud in the end. No need to change bulbs or wondering when to go from veg>flower or worrying with light schedules.

I prefer having the ability to grow them as big as I want before flowering.
When you do find a killer auto that's worth keeping, what's the odds of finding that phenotype again?
I've grown a few packs of Auto's, and no 2 plants are the same(even in the same strain).

Why would I buy more auto-fem, when I couldn't even give the bud away?
Extract was decent, but not good investment if you have to extract the goodies for it to be worth smoking.

Low rosin returns too, 12-15% plant depending

You might be right, standing by the commercial point of view about autos. I grew fem and got to know autos by mistake and ended up liking then, so far I can't complain about autos' quality, but when it boils down to weight, they r really not that heavy producer, non-profitable, kind of 3 to 6 zips. I'm going vert now and I got some free space mid room, right underneath the verticals bare bulbs and I'm going to fill that spot w 8 different auto strains, purple, blue, kush and on. Ain't for the money, it is the easy, fast, give me variety of flavors & free good smoke. But my next grow will be w regular lets see the difference.

my Think Different is out of control right now... i'm only 5 weeks in and having height issues. i fimmed her as early as i could but it seems to have made her grow faster or something and she is guzzling nutes with no burn. pinched some stems yesterday 24 hours later she's back already. the auto AK i have next to her is like night and day it is from some other company. looks like a small kale plant or something. pretty much worthless think i may scratch it cause its taking up space. Dutch Passion has good genetics... i will probably go back to feminized next run but DP will make you re-evaluate your opinions of autos. 4oz of good smoke per plant in 10 weeks is plenty for me. gonna try their bluemazar next along with probably a Cinderella 99 and try a mini scrog with it. i really only have room for 2 good size plants in my closet.

critical auto by femenised seeds co is 65days i think. yields 3oz of big colas
I've got a blueberry snow that I've been cloning for 1 1/2 years that takes ~4weeks veg + 7 weeks flower(usually let it go 50days just becuz).
Always over 5oz, + sometimes over 6 per plant... ~12 days longer(with both veg+flower) than your auto, almost double the weight.

Still not seeing the up-side to auto's

starting in spring and planting outdoors. nothing to do with the weight. if you're ill prepared to a grow season then autos are great sibce they can be planted in raised beds and need no particular season to flower. do you not garden or something? this should be obvious

im not saying they're better yielders than photos but i can plant seeds every two weeks throughout the grow season. they'll be genetically unique plants so one disease wont effect every single plant.
