i have been running 2 same plants side by side same ballasts 600 watt solis tek running 600 not on the boost mode . both hoods same fans and distance . both mother plants . the clear winner by far . i actually took out the bulbs to check to make sure because i did not think i had them in the correct hoods because of the extra growth yield and color . the ipower is tearing the hortilux up by a major margin . been using hortilux for a very long time in flower i am switching to ipower bulbs . think i am full of shit ? do a side by side your self .just thought you all should know these cheap bulbs can compete with he name brands or be much better . many years experience here not a novice .

I grow in one of their tents and its well made. Off topic i know but good for the price. Also makes me wonder how their 600 Watt hps kits would perform. Wonder how good the ballasts are.

Ya i was wondering about how they would perform. I was thinking about buying one just to have around for winter time growing. Plus use as a backup light.

the ipower is tearing the hortilux up by a major margin
Come on now. Tearing it up huh?

Long time grower and long time eye hortilux bulb user here myself. That doesn't sound like a very good controlled experiment to me. Just two plants? They were mommas?

How about a PAR reading? Or shit, even a fc/lumens reading from the two bulbs?

Even though I'm only rockin DE's nowadays, I've never, EVER seen one single ended bulb completely end up blowing another one away, let alone a horti getting blown away by a cheap ass bulb all else the same.

like i said . try it for you self . i bought this bulb when i was broke as hell . i have 2 cycles on it and both times its winning . all the bulbs are the same age . did i measure par , no i dont spend thousand on text equipment . all i know and see the plant with the ipower cheap bulb is winning .

I plan to get a hortilux bulb soon and see how it performs. I've been using the ipower bulbs for about a year or so now. It will definitely get the job done.

Hey Joe,
My experience with cheaper bulbs Vs, one like the hortilux is that the cheaper ones fade quicker. The eye horti might have a little more noticable lumens at first but not much.

I always replaced my hortilux bulbs once a year. A light meter would show me that is when they start fading a little(the hortilux bulbs) They were always on 12/12.
