so this was a freebie of course and I'm on my second week from seed. It's under a 1000 watt mh with my other plants ( not auto) so my question is....... Can you just switch to 12/12 in stead of 18/6? On dinafem website it says you could use any light cycle unless I read that wrong but if it needs to go under 18/6 I have a 400 watt hps I can put her under. My other question is how would the yield be effected with this strain if I left it in the 1000 watt tent during flower with 12/12 light?

You can 12/12 autos. I had to when a large part of my crop ended up being photos.

It hurts yield a lot but if it was a free seed and you got a pheno harvest along with it I am sure you will be happy with it. Your 1000 watt should help it produce.

Very interesting. Do you 12/12 your autos? My 12/12s have all been small. I have also seen growers with very nice yields on 24, 20, and 18 hours of light too...

That post claims they mature by light hours and not day cycles. Makes some sense as to why it drags out...

Seems like 14-16 hours would be a good compromise. Have you tried these?

Never ran an auto under 12/12, i just changed my northern lights auto to 19/5, My other 3 autos run 20/4 from seed, i have run 18/6 before and the difference between 20/4 and that was not impressive, I too have seen autos well grown under all different schedules. I really think it comes down to how much ruderalis was really put into the genetics.The more in it the better it reacts to 18/6 -20/4-24/0, the less it has, maybe the more it is to do well with any of the schedules, including 12/12/18/6. Just a little thought i had after typing about 5 words in this post lol.

I changed my post thinking maybe 14-16 hours would be a better compromise. May be only a couple week extra.

Waiting a long time for an auto kind of takes the point of growing autos away...

I'll just keep it in the 1000 watt tent till I'm ready to flower the phenos then I'll probably move it to the 400 I don't know haha I'll see what she wants to do, all I can do is read her right? :confused: And no but I'm thinking about starting one up I'll let you know where I'll be posting it

Haha critical you must really love critical cheese haha. I have grown one other auto before and it was the roadrunner by dinafem. It was a closet grow with a 400 watt hps 18/6 the whole grow and it went for 95 days from seed got about 3oz off of it. We will just see where it goes this time I'm thinking I'll end up putting her in her own lil room I'll start a thread. You should follow it being that it's one of your favs critical haha

Hahaha right on man ;) Yeah i love any of the criticals and cheeses so when they finally had both crossed with themselves it was amazing. Love my indica. I will for sure follow it and check it out. Always checking out peoples grows, whether it is big or small. You got my support. Good luck!

PS. 3 zips off a closet auto is really decent man good job.

Hmm... the more I look over grows the more I think that guy was right saying autos are based on light hours and not day cycles. Everyone seems to get much bigger yields and longer grow times the less light they use...

Would be nice to have 2 areas for autos. One for quick turnovers and another for heavy producers.

I know man... I actually put my Northern lights on 19/5. Curious to see how it does. It is still gaining height at almost 5 weeks lolol... Might have a superauto.. It does seem like not many people get the donkey dicked plant on 18/6 or something similar. Im curious about that guys truthfulness to his 12/12 theory.

I am on 20/4 and they bush out. But I am using MH their entire stretch.

I want that single top cola. Would be easier to manage than this tangle I have going. Not to mention a hell of a trophy bud. Just hard to dry without mold when they are that big. I always have to break them down.

Next grow I am going HPS from the start. Hopefully between that and hydro I can get some huge top colas and little side branching.

Edit: also working on better curing conditions.

Grew a freebie of cc auto and it was great smoke, bought a 10 pack and didnt get 1 pheno that resembled the freebie, all b grade smoke.
Have never grown autos again, complete waste of time imo.

I run my hps for all but 1 of my autos and they are always more compact and bushy. MH in my basement makes them grow tall.

Yeah i always nugget my colas if they are bigger than my hand, mold is a bitch when it gets into big fuckers like that. Im also up in maine, and september-october there is always LOADS of mold around. *knock on wood* I am yet to be struck by it.. one of the most depressing things you can see.

B grade is not bad depending where you live i guess, but compared to what is sold around my area and the fire that other breeders are putting out there is a big difference in quality
