So wondering what everyone thinks about veg light times, I've done 24/0, 20/4, and currently 18/6

Seems to me that a good rest period for veg is a good thing. I have noticed slower rooting of clones but only a few days. What do you guys think?

I run 18/6 for veg, I have done 24/0 for autos worked good. I do like them to get the 6 hrs rest, just my preference. I did have them going at 16/8 for awhile and 2 strains started flowering on me, so I bumped them back up to 18/6, cured the issue lol. Peace, be safe MD.

I would do 18 hours. Gives the plants a rest and saves energy. I always hear people talking about how rest time returns nutrients and some how helps the plants roots. As for proof of this I am not sure lol.

My buddy grows light dep and taught me a trick. He uses it in the fall and spring when daylight hours are 12/12ish. He uses t5 lights to keep the plants from budding in his greenhouse but only turns them on for 1 hour at 1 am. I'm trying this method indoor with my 2k watt grow but not the way he does. I have my lights set to 12/12 and my t5 comes on for 6 hours after my 1ks turn off. The t5 doesn't do anything for growth just keeps pge down a lot.

I think this is called lantern growing or something. To get the flower growth but not the flower, correct?
