My first grow...

Hello all,

This is my first grow and thought I would let you all see it and tell me how everything is going. I am using a 1000watt air cooled hps, and my strains are 3 WW and 1 NL. Thought I would go small the first time and see how it goes. Let me know what you think or what can be done better. I have had some heat issues...and still do, but the yellowing on the plants is from heat stress I believe...but then again I am new at this whole process. The heat is still an issue as my temp in there is at about 90F so I am going to try and get a bigger fan cooling the light and hopefully that helps. So here's some pictures...give me some feedback

Thanks

Pred...

ok here we go, Day 13 and they seem to be doing okay. I am using nutes that I got from a fellow grower (for now) and will switch when I start flowering. Watering every 3 or so days, and misting the plants a bit.

Back to my grow room...bongsmilie

Damn temp issues....:cuss:

honestly, your babies look pretty good for that stage so no big changes are needed. you want 1 gal of pot space per ft of height you want the plant to grow. you might consider insulated ducting if you;re still having problems with heat. also, be aware the quoted temp ranges for mj are for the thermometer at the top of the plant canopy but shaded from direct light. lots of people get an artificially high reading from the radiant heat of the light.

every second or third watering
Thanks for your input and I hope you like my grow. I'm trying to do a good job.

As for the heat issue, I place my themometer in the foliage of the WW's and got a reading of 86F, I am thinking that is better and will do for now untill I get a better fan for my light?

Thanks:weed:

it will be ok but 5 f lower would be better, what's the cfm of the fan you have and what is the temp outside your grow area??

At this time I only have a 110CFM fan exhausting air out, with a 80CFM blowing cold air toward the intake side of the fan.

I Am going to buy a better one ASAP, but within the past week I have already spent $1000 ony my grow room...so well...the wife isn't too impressed.

Temp outside my area is about 70F ish.

My area is only about 3 1/2 feet high, will be building a bigger room within the next couple months....again blew too much money on the grow room. Hoping to keep topping the plants and make them bushy as can be...:weed:

Thanks for help and advise....

you do need a larger fan, especially with 6" diameter ducting. but your space is so small for a 1000 watt light i'm not sure anything you can reasonably do will help until you move to a larger space.

Hey your supposed to be positive...:weed:

I'll go get a minimum of 300 CFM fan right away, it will keep the temps down, and also get a bigger exhaust fan. My question is can I have a pasive intake and not be worried during flower when they stink?

as long as your passive intake is sized small enough and your exhaust fan is on you'll be fine. as for being positive, i am very positive that you will have heat problems. didn;t want you to go into it blind.

LOL, I know I know, I was told going in already. But I figured why buy a 400 or a 600 when I am going to want a 1000 when I switch rooms anyway. You don't think having a much stronger fan would help out heat issues at all?
