want to see what 1 1/4 pound of wet moldy bud looks like?

Chopped my only plant this morning. Saw a little bit of mildew on some of the buds. After seeing some brown spots on a few colas I ripped them open and sure enough bud rot. My first experience with this crap. It's crazy how bud can look fine on the outside and be rotting in the middle.

I decided to toss it all to be burned in my fire pit. Such a shame. The last few weeks have be very humid and cold and my grow space isn't climate controlled and I paid the price this time. Sure, just a few ounces of dried bud wasted but I chalk it up to a learning experience.

This is why my next grow with be like a surgical lab with all the precautions.

I suppose I could make bubble hash. Never done it before. How much can I get from a
that much wet bud? That's like 3 1/2 -5 ounces if it were dry. I tossed it in the freezer for now.

I'm wondering if that's even enough bud to make it worth the trouble. I suppose being that it's fresh bud it would be higher quality but how much can I expect to get?

i'm not sure its even safe to make hash, you can cause yourself some serious respiratory problems breathing in mold. i'd make sure it was safe before you made it.

as far as how much, the trim off of one good sized plant will make me a chunk about the size of the last joint on my pinky, you ought to get at least a big fat thumb sized piece off of that, as long as it doesn't give you asthma and copd

Dont they sometimes wash in peroxide first, to rid the mold? Never tried, but seems like Ive read it.

I trim fan leaves and larger sugar leaves then do a wash with an H2O2 bath regardless. It will get rid of light PM. I inspect my buds with a 60x loupe before I wash.

I'm probably just going to toss it in the fire pit. I've got a grow tent now, a bunch of seeds from Nirvana I haven't used yet and some new lights and gear I'm going to buy. This last grow was just a crappy setup in a garage with no filtration or climate control. Sucks but oh well.

Ugh sorry mate, disaster I always throw mold away only make things from quality clean bud your health is more important..I am always over cautious because I am immune suppressed, H202 does work to remove mold u can actually watch it bubble and react with mold but I still wouldn't be sure its all gone.

All mold spores will die off when exposed to oxygen.

If you're really worried about it, let it fully dry out and make some Bho.

Pretty sure the coldness from the butane will kill off all the spores anyways.

I've always made Bho from the nasty stuff, I also have a set up with a dewaxing column, so I am running my stuff at subzero temps.

When my first harvest was covered in white fuzz I did H202 and saved some, it smoked harsh but that was a lot to do with my terrible techniques as a newbie..it didn't kill me anyway lol..
After this and completely unrelated to the mold issue I was diagnosed with auto immune disease so I just won't take the chance.
Thats not to say your wrong at all though the bud was smoked and harmed nobody

Man I'd be so pissed at finding that. But, I'm sure freezing it would destroy most of the mold. You could still hash it. Or bho run it.

Actually the bho would really fuck that mold up. Because it's such a drastic change from normal temps to freezing cold in a matter of seconds.

Yeah OP I feel your pain, I think I mentioned losing a beautiful guerilla grow to bud rot. It was unplanned but I did it right, digging a good size hole and mixing peat and coco with natural soil and quality time release nutes. She exploded and thrived, then came late September rains. Not much I could do, she was a slow finisher. I trimmed what bud rot I first found, chopped a couple weeks later but it was screwed. Through the summer I spent an few hours out there with her watering and inspecting, preventing pests, protecting from deer. That was a painful loss
