Do I need LED?

No, you do not need LED's. I am sorry but my wife calls me mr literal and that is the literal answer to your question. 8) Sorry I couldn't resist.

I have a wonderful 250w hps/mh setup you should buy. It'll help fund an led build for my veg tent. I don't need leds, but I want them!

What is the brand haha

Does either the COB or Rahz's lights have an advantage when it comes to heat gen? I'm trying to figure out what I need for venting. If I have one fan sucking in at the bottom and one fan blowing out at the top, is it sufficient to just leave my closet door opened or do I need ducting? No one really goes in this room, but I'd still like to be somewhat inconspicuous.

Hi Skylan,

COBs do have an advantage (my lights are COB lights) because the more efficient the light the less watts needed to hit a target light level. Less watts is less heat. If you provide your closet size we can give you a better idea of what you might want to put in there based on a desirable PPFD level. I'm pretty sure you can avoid heat issues, but there may be a good bit of light peaking out.

I'm new, never grown. Have a 2x2x5.1 gorilla tent being delivered soon. I plan to grow a single plant, high CBD indica heavy and I'd like to get obviously the most out of this plant.

Since it's such a small space I worry about any lighting that puts off too much heat, which is why I was looking at LED. But I've also been reading that even a couple CFLs that are properly placed might be good enough to get max yield from a plant.

I would have posted under the stick thread but it appears to be locked at the moment.
LED BUD PORN, it speaks for itself

The closet is roughly 4.5' x 4.5' by 9'. Interestingly enough, there is an A/C vent in there.

This will also be the only thing in the closet.

Oh, the tent has already been decided, 2x2x5'1 - I just want one plant. Whatever I can get from that is great. More concerned about quality than quantity.

So I was considering your T1 model.

Definitely a good choice. In my opinion, the best of any option unless you are going to fill at least a room or garage. Two max will do probably anything you will grow in your closet. You'll probably need one per plant, unless you get two, then you can do two closet-large plants or multiple microplants. Three, for a larger microgrow. But they are probably the best lighting I've used thusfar. And two T1s have the advantage over a T2 that they are driven by two separate 2150mA drivers. I haven't really found anyone else driving them that high.

You can. For one big plant (It will yield at least a QP, probably a decent amount more if you do it right), or for a couple little plants. Start out with the one light, start small, sell, buy another light, grow bigger, repeat. An ounce goes for $250-$420 in this country. QP's 4 ounces. One ounce will just a bit more than pay for the lights.

Gotcha, I know I'm asking a ton of questions and definitely appreciate all the help. But assuming a T1 with 2x2x5'1 tent and 4.5x4.5x9 ft closet what venting would be needed? and do I need to leave the closet door open?
