pretty simple answer why people mess up is because they arent growing your plants, dont have whatever soil you have, dont have the room you have.

i also wouldn`t recomend anyone to put thier seeds into 5 galon pots. no streatching? there are reasons to put them in smaller pots to start.
i can gaurantee you no nute has all the veg covered, or the flower cycle. or they would be like mg and put it all in one bottle. and look how well that stuff works.

I'm just sayin the guy that showed me the steps he did and what his results where said keep it simple. I mean if i followed the same steps just like he recommended why would I fail. I learned from Lost (transplants) and uucompound (doesn't transplant likes to keep it extra simple) on highgrade-seeds.com forum and they stick to the water for veg and nutes for flower and thier plants come out awesome every time. Short and simple. Maybe everyone wont have the same results but i'm just sayin if you copied someone with experience and they are using a simple method like that how hard could it be to get good plants for a 1st timer.


I never transplant - ever - I see no need for it - just a bunch of extra work and mess for no good reason---I always just germ the seeds and put straight to a 5 gallon bucket under full spec 1000 watt mh untill they are finished sometimes I dont even germ the seeds just put them in the soil and water them till they sprout- uucompound

ya the less you mess with them is correct but there are reasons for treansplanting up in at least one stage. but like you say everyone does it different.
i find that if i jump to a big pot my plants streatch more than they would if i did it in a couple upses. because the tap root will shoot to the bottom and the side shoots take a while and mekes a plant streatch

You are right Bonz. For me 1 transplant is perfect. And I don't have stretching problems.

if you water with a light B1 solution during early veg. stage, your plants roots will grow side shoots faster, and you will get bushier plants regardless of pots size, and it won't be stretched. Also, if you keep the soil constantly moist, it will help keep stretching from occurring...

Yeah, if the soil gets dry around the rhizosphere the roots have to grow to look for water, and the plant stretches too, for light. I try to keep my soil at a balance like a ringed out wash rag. Not sopping wet.

putting a small plant in a large pot and keeping it moist sounds like a rot problem waiting to happen. Most first grow problems result from overwatering so i think this is bad advise for a noob

and i like to freshen the soil for flower time to.

definatly keeping the roots moist is good, you can adjust you soils airation by adding perlite. during flower i have to water every day, however if i lock out a plant it can go 5-9 days between waterings.


Dont stress about ph imbalances, you can treat with a hydrated lime to neturalize conditions

Im with bonz if done right a transplant can actualy be good for the plants I try to give them dark for a bit after and never have stressed plants after transplanting? I work with plants and would never put a seedling plant of any kind in a big pot? That's just me

i was talking about my watering cycle. if i dont let my plants dry proper in between waterings it can cause a ph imballance sometimes, and yes i do use lime.
the next thing i said is that i like to freshen my soil for flower time. meaning that a transplant into new soil would give them enough nitrogen and a few other nutes to get through. so i can concentrate more on the bloom mixtures, and not worry it may start to yellow to soon.

fox farm is good stuff but i dont know about being for beginners. i found it pretty strong and i see alot of people burning with it and cant get up to full stenght.

I can attest to that! Don't use big bloom at anymore than 4T/gal (2oz).

6T/gal burnt my girls pretty good.

Well I just started up a batch with FF products...I took Ocean Forest and mixed it with Light Warrior at a ratio of 1.5 to 1. I veged for 2 weeks using the grow big as directed by FF. I am now 12 days into bloom and have followed there directions exactly and I have nothing but good to say so far. I did purchase there 3 soluable formulas, and have used the Open Sesame as directed with no problems. With out the soluable in the feed, my ph ends up around 6.0 with a ppm of 650, with the Open Sesame the ph will drop to 5.7 with a ppm off 1400. I adjust the ph alternatly from 6 to 6.5 every watering, I plan on continuing this for the entire grow. I also have a side by side grow using FF chunky perlite mixed with Canna coco, and using GH Flora and a few other GH products. I would have to say that the FF soil plants are giving the hydro a good chase so far..My goal it to go fully Organic, just as I like to purchase all organic produce for my body, I would like to have the same in my smoke that I provide for the people that I provide for. So this is my first step to achive this goal. So far so good...FF cost seems to be a good way for a newbie soil grower to provide for there plants with out knowing a whole hell of alot about ammendments..That is my take on it.

just hit my ladies with a max dose of tiger bloom the other day , these girls are going crazy faster buding than the FF product i was using. theleaves are shooting upward wich is a very happy plant.
FF is all i will ever use. some gen. though do not like much nutes at all, some lik it up , i always start weak before controlling them with it. organic or not it works for me. But i also use water at our local gal. fill up .35 cent a gallon. Never need to PH this stuff a 6 always or rite around.its a bit higher in akaline wich plants thrive on. i'd rather shootem than give them faucet water.

This site has a lot of misinformation . Most of it comes from the biggest talker . Organic nutes are incapable of burning plants . ORGANIC ... if it doesnt say ORGANIC it isnt Tiger bloom and Grow Big are not organic . Big Bloom is organic ,says so on the bottle . Pot size has nothing to do with plant stretching to the light . Soil does not need to be pH 'd at all . The soil buffers the ferts . You know who has real good true info ? THCtalk.com

Options aren't a bad thing. Read the labels when you buy stuff...

FF is what I use though, no complaints:
