Will my bud smell better after a week drying

Hi guys I just harvested a bb cheese at 8wks and a few days. A little early but needed the space for a few autos that out grew the propagation chamber.
My question is will my damp hay smelling buds transform over the next couple weeks' from hay like smell to the cheese smell we are used to smelling with cheese????

Yes it will, once you dry it and cure it in a method you prefer, it will smell like bud - bud! lol. I use the sweat method, its time consuming, but produces the stickiest bud for me. Peace, be safe MD.

They don't smell of much really??
A little mild skunk smell but even that's when I take a few deep sniffs ' I really hope they start smelling like they should because this bb cheese is a strain that is judged on the smell?????

try adding citress peeel or apple peel when curing for added flavor wont make it taste like honey but it wil give it a smoothing apleley taste

Did you dry it in the dark?
Buds need drying in the dark or the light drains the thc and you end up with a hay tasting smoke......

You didnt say if they are drying for x amount of days and how dense they are.

The hay smell will leave after day 4/5 in drying after all the swamp gas dissipates. Also if you wet trimmed the hay smell will be stronger as the gas leaves thru the bud and not the leaves. Dry to fast and no amount of curing will help.

the key to getting rid of that smell is patience. light doesn't matter at all as long as your not using a 1k hps to dry with.
its time. the longer you can wait the better it will be. it should take at least 5 or 6 days, 8 or 10 is better.
low temps, low humidity, low but constant airflow, just enough to barely rustle things.
the smell is mostly chlorophyll breaking down, if you rush the dry that smell stays trapped in the plant, if you let it take its time it all gases out. then a cure of at least the same length, burping jars maybe twice daily at first, then less often as you go along.

So the cheesy smell might developed over time in the drying and curing phase?
They don't smell horrible and my temp's are 18/20c and my HM is 50%/55% day 4 and I'm drying in compleate darkness and have a small gan on the floor moving air around under the hanging rack.
Buds feel really dense and springy ' a bud that would most likely weigh 2g weighs 3.9g I'm loosing roughly 0.8 of a gram a day on a bud that weighed 7gram on the first drying day ??????
This probrobly doesn't mean a lot because all buds are different in size/shape and density

75% will be lost to drying.

That's what they say, but if you were to not water them much the last week or two do you think that number would go down?

Basically dry out the pot with the plant still in it or is that not going to do well?

Umm. IDK last 2 weeks they are drinking water pretty good. Not watering much might not help overall health. I harvest on water days without the watering early that day, 4 hrs into the night cycle. That is about I dry as I let them go.

I see lots of people trying different things at the end....just wondering.
