How long before I give up?

I have 15 seeds that I started in wet paper towel in a sealed Tupperware on the cable box for warmth. After 2 days 5 of the 15 had small roots and a few more were cracked open. So at thr point I put them all into rapid root plugs. Within 2 days 8 of thr 15 were about 2 inches tall and looking good. The other 7 have not even cracked open yet?

I always do it the same way and get better results like 100% or 90%. I must add that these were seeds I crossed and made. They were nice and brown with black stripes. I let them dry out for 3 weeks. Then put them in the freezer for 2 weeks. Pulled thrm out and waited another week before I sprouted them.

Could it be because I put them in the freezer? Is there a possibility they may still pop? It's been 7-8 days now. What's the longest I should wait before I toss them?

Appreciate the input.

i hate to give up, but i usually do after 2 weeks. i'll take ones that are hard to sprout and either scarify them with a little sandpaper or soak them in h2o2 for about an hour, if that doesn't give them enough of an advantage, they were weak anyway

Don't give up. I left about 100 seeds I bred in an open garage through 2 winters and yeah they took a longer time to actualy sprout. But they're now my most vigorous plants. One way to tell really easy it it's worth waiting on them all is just take one amd crack it open. Yeah your gonna lose that seed. But you'll know of there's that white meat in there. You see the white little seedling you know chances are the rest do too. Mine sat in a tub filled with snow uncovered and now check this plant out. 1476456001837-1836334690.jpgdon't give up on em yet. This seed sat in snow then water then heat then snow then etc etc and still popped. Once it was under soil. Well promix. Just stick the seed in soil wait for it. Toss it to the side in a cup and if it works great if it doesn't it doesn't.

Hey man what's up first off I germ in both water and paper towel in my best way to explain how I have 100% success rate with germing is that when using the water technique use not hot but just warm but not cold water drop them in then put them in a dark warm place after 24hrs tap the seeds they should drop to the bottom at that point wait another 2-3 days back in the place you put them they should have sprouting tails then put them in the medium you are growing in ( I put them in the pot i plan on growing the full life cycle in) I refuse transplanting an added stress not needed. Now the paper towel for the best rates of success use 2 paper towels don't tare apart boil some water then dip the paper towel in it this disinfects them and nice and warm ring it out but not all the way drop your seeds on it fold over then place In a sandwich bag put in dark warm place 24-72 hrs I'm certain this will pop anything. And about putting in the FREEZER NEVER NEVER NEVER DO THIS you can burn your seeds thus killing then before you bring them to life. I keep all my genetics stored in a old plastic coffee can until I need them hope this helps and I the future if you could even across some stubborn seeds buy off line some gerbolic acid it's a root stimulator

I never ever transplant either. Just too much and slows the plant down by weeks sometimes. I put my seeds straight into 5 and 10 gallon smart pots then they went rt under my 1000 hps. Yeah overkill waste of energy but hey it works great and once they're going they're off like race cars.

Ya man I had some very impressive grows by not transplanting I don't even use a 1000w light I use a 400 lol but the last grow I did I netted dry weight 174g in 4 gal smart pots per plant colas were bigger than circle k 44oz cups as a comparison I super crop and use the bud swelling technique which is unfucking believable

gibberelic acid, its a pgr (plant growth regulator) it is good for tough seeds, but its a hormone, and makes it a crap shoot if that plants going to end up male, female, or both. its used to make male AND female flower, at different strengths, as well as making plants stretch like crazy if used the wrong way. read up carefully if you think about using it

I have lol I only use enough to be about 150-200 ppm and I've popped seeds with one inch tails in 36 hrs now granted you start with good genetics is up to the grower rather than using some bag seed with a 50/50 shot of being female plants but for those tough seeds this works wonders I usually soak in regular water for an hr after they sprout just to wash off any residual gerbolic acid

Fuckin smart pots are something else arnt they ? Amazing what air pruning can do. I was using 2 600s hps till I rebuilt my house ended up giving my equipment away. Under the 2 600s in 5 gals , I was pulling very close to half a pound on a lot plants. The 1000 I'm not so sure because the damd heat this sucker pouts off keeps the light further from the tops. Well see though. This Skywalker x og waseeds a 7 oz dry and done plant. I've been thinking of giving LEDS a try because of the heat. Screenshot_20160918-004652.png this plant didn't finish for another 3 weeks id say. And this black Russian grew fuckin colas you could hide behind 2 litre bottle thick. You can see the larger size bat guano bag in the back of it for comparison. Wish I took a photo of this plant whole. Same thing though 5 gallons promix , grow bloom and 2 600 watt hps lamps. Screenshot_20160918-004518.jpgnever seen anything like this plant since.. maybe it's a genetic thing but my god it was so insane. And delicious

I worry about bag seed. I never wanna chance em , hermies can fuck up a lot of hard work. I've also in a decade never been able to clone a plant and never considered ppms....I was watering my outdoor plants this summer with hose water and shit man they grew huge only to find out the ph was a 9 when I brought everything to indoors. I was like wtf how does a plant turn to a damd tree taking in 9ph water. I guess it's a testament to promix

Op man. Let those seeds pop bro. Because when they do , they could be your golden ticket. The ones who took long to sprout but ended up champions. Just let nature so it's thing.

Ok well an update. Still none of the remaining seeds popped so I pulled one out of the cloning plug and ripped it open and it appeared to be a moist white root inside likeit was sstarting but just hasn't opened up yet. Should I pull them all out and put them in some super wet warm paper towels maybe they are nut getting enough moisture to pop the shells because they were so new?

Main reason i want them all to pop is this is a cross where the mom is "Gas" which is Sour Diesel crossed with Master Kush then the pollen came from a mom who was forced to pollinate that's strain is Berry Bling which is Strawberry Cough crossed with white widow. All were the best phenos over the last 4 years. So basically it all boils down to this haha. Then I'm going to take the best pheno out of this bunch if seeds and run some clones of just a phenomenal batch.

The multitude of seeds I 'accidentally' found--- two weeks from harvest----(within a week there were thousands of them on three plants) seem to be the result of the intense heat for days and nights on end, no humidity, no rain----read BIG stress for at least three weeks.

Since it seems seeds from these plants will produce mostly females, I want pop them at a safe distance in time from now. A 4 week curing time for the seeds, or if
the seeds are mostly a light pale/green color, after removing the seed cover, will they turn a deeper shade as they dry out?? Or were the seeds taken off the branches too early, and they will never ripen??

i think they pretty much stop maturing when the bud they were in dries out, you might get a few more days of ripening after harvest but i wouldn't count on much more
