Hello,
I am having some issues controlling climate after moving the location of my setup to a naturally more humid area. I've gone through two other grows with this same setup and they turned out great. After switching to flower, I have taken more action on controlling humidity by just using my dehumidifier. I don't put my dehumidifier right in the grow tent, that heats it up in there WAY too much, I normally just put it outside the grow tent so that all of the air that the tent is in-taking is dryer and thus the humidity goes down in the tent. Easy, and works great, until you move your tent to a nice stealthy closet and putting your dehumidifier in the closet outside the tent just heats the shit out of the closet. So now I'm playing the game of having the dehumidifier on a low setting so the closet and air that the tent intakes isn't too hot, and isn't too humid. But it's just not enough. It seems I either have to choose from the tent being too hot, or too humid. My only other option is to find something entirely different that will control the climate... so all I can think of is a portable AC. Maybe in conjunction with the dehumidifier if necessary. If anybody has other ideas as to how to keep the place cool AND not too humid please let me know, but I think I've kind of exhausted my options.
SO, as I look at portable AC units, I'm not sure what to do. First of all, these are crazy expensive. Second of all, I don't need that much power out one, this is to cool a very small space. So when the smallest I can find is 10,000 BTU, i'm pretty sure that even that is going to be an extreme overkill for what I need. I feel like I would need one with a rating of like 2,000 BTU just to cool the tiny sized tent that I have (2x4x5 ft), but I cant find any.
Does anybody know of some SMALL, and preferably CHEAP portable AC units that I can vent into my grow tent (and have the other end vented out of the closet)to keep it cool, but that wont just be an extreme overkill of power usage and cooling necessary?
And btw, an evaporative air cooler (even though they are nice and cheap) will not work, because it will raise the humidity, making the problem worse.
