Hey guys... I was thinking,

Which would be best setup : 4x 1,000w 4x4 spaces.

Or 4x 1000w in a 16x16 space?

How much can you grow with with that much light??

well, one gram per watt, a pretty lofty goal for someone who's never grown, or for a new setup which has yet to be dialed in, would yield you 4000 grams, or half a per watt, would yield 2000 grams..

i don't understand what you're asking, do you mean 4 smaller rooms with a 1k in each room, versus 1 larger room with 4 evenly spaced lights?
i'd go for the larger room, 16x16 might be a little large for the lights, i think i'd go more like 14x14, or even 12x12. set the lights up with just a slight overlap and go to town.
the 4 separate rooms would give you more flexibility, but the big room would muscle out more per month, imo.

The guys on space station are getting 0 grams per watt. Are you growing in space? If so, 0 grams.

4 rooms at 4x4 ----> equals --->1 room at 8x8. Let's start with proper dimensions.

Now that we've figured out the actual sizes we are comparing we can move on to the question at hand. There's always more than 1 factor in growing. Technically it should be equal. But comparing a single room with a single light will ALWAYS be easier to cool. So there could be cost savings by using individual rooms (cooling costs). 4 lights in 1 room is much harder to maintain an even temperature. More A/C or more fans pulling in cold outdoor air.

On the other hand if you have 4 lights in a single room you could probably get away with a SLIGHTLY larger area. Because in the center area where it has light on both sides can be used to expand the GROW area slightly because that area with over lapping light coverage gets a greater amount of PAR watts what it would on the perimeter of a single lights perimeter. In other words you might be able to have a single area of 10x10 as someone mentioned above. Especially if you rotate your plants. Not only individually but also around the grow area.
