when do you throw in your HID's?

I might take that suggestion and leave em for the rest of the week. Only problem is im low on cash and they are barley putting out 92 watts as a whole. 92 watts to 600w is a big jump and idk if I should get another pack of cfls or slowly build the wattage on the ballast
Lumens don't stack up,meaning adding more CFL's won't increase your light values in terms of 200-400-600 etc,I wouldn't buy anymore cfl's, as long as the plants are rooted & have 1 set of leaves you can put em under your 600 at half power, all small immature plants need is a week to harden off when going from floro to HID,keep your light 2 ft away at half power like you described earlier & the plants will love you for it,the sooner you get em under HID the faster the real growth takes off,as long as you have that 1st set of true leaves your all set for HID .

Cool, im skeptical on two things which are my own problems I set on myself

1. I dont have proper ventilation yet
2. Just worried about a spike that will raise a flag though I am still paying the depsits with a new electricity acount ( not sure if it'll make a difference in why our usage has a weird pattern or something )

You'll be fine I ran 16K in a illegal state for years with zero problems.. I'm running a 6K flower room in a rec state and still zero issues. Trust me.. just pay the bill
Have no issue with paying bills I even paid them early 2 months prior to maybe let em know we are cool people lol

I honestly don't know man I haven't looked at a bill I years lol I just pay them when they come in I pay most of my bills online so I don't even check I would only look at the bill itself if my monthly payment was way off my electric bill changes by 20 dollars a month or so but I run 100s of gallons of fish tanks right now I think I'm at 210 gallons lol and each tank uses a good amount of electricity
Wow thats pretty impressive it must be beautiful lol and well maybe im just thinking to much. Im just worried about my bill running up another 100$ but maybe im probably just over thinking

Okay you guys are convincing me. Ventilation is another issue I wont be able to order a fan, filter and ducting till another week or 3 :/ bills due next coming week so idk if 3 weeks of that light will fuck up my tent especially when I sleep or am out .. any suggestions? I could make a ghetto AC with ice and a cooler, fan and some ducting to bring cool air in but what are some things youhave done if you ever came to a fork in the road like this?

How many cents are you charged per kilowat?
Its cheap as hell to run a single 600 HID,especially when you get to 12/12,I grow in a commercial building I own that has a real estate business out in the front offices using 10 ton air conditioning for the grow op, 24 600 watt hps & 16 500 watt T-5's all on 12/12 on the flood & drain rooms 8 tables,in the mother/clone room I run 6 600 watt hps 24/7, 20 inline fans for cooling lights & intake/exhaust/filtration,8 rez pumps, 4 air compressors, 18 wall mount oscalating fans, 2 48 inch 2 hp box fans ,6 inline ozone generators , 8 swimming pool pumps and other misc shit for roughly 32,000 watts of draw at 12/12, down to about 7,000 watts 24 hrs a day when the flood room lights shut down, with the grow in back & business out front my power bill is about $2,200 a month & Con Ed don't bat an eye,I did the per watt math years ago & it was some silly shit like $30 per light of 12/12,its not much for 1 600 watt HID unit.

When I 1st light the room up the transformer on the utility pole out back caught fire & cooked from the surge ,I told the linemen from Con Ed I had a legal grow going & they put up a huge transformer,no problems with power for the last 8 years the grows been going

Whoah man that sounds really really really really impressive. Im trying to do a quick one where I top them once and maybe let em replenish for a week and flip quick but Im still debating whether to do that or take some time to mainline for some heavy nugs but I just want some flower fast

A 600W running 18 hours a day works out to $77.76 for me at 24 cents kwh. I don't care if it was only $20 a month I'd still use CFLs to keep my money out of those greedy bastards hands.

Nice strong stems on the plants in the picture I posted. My computer has a 650W power supply but only uses 180W according to my meter. Still too much but it's my TV and everything else center in my man cave so I'm not complaining much. :)

the fastest turn over & largest profits are seen with perpetual harvest sea of green flood & drain or other simple hydroponic grow methods .

I cut 50 clones every week with each clone having 6-8 bud node sites & no side branching, all side branches MUST be cropped, the clones root for a week & go directly in one of 8 4ft x 8ft flood tables,a week later another table is filled with 50 6-8 node clones,I follow that pattern of 50 a week until all 8 tables are filled, once the last of 8 tables is filled I chop the 1st table filled, every week 50 plants finish budding & 50 new clones go into a table .

Using clones with 6-8 tightly grouped nodes yields a single cola weighing from 2.5 ounces to 4 ounces dried product per plant x 50 plants per table, when I chop a table I have 3 days to get it cleaned & refilled with plants so every table yields 6 full harvests per year .

check out the hydroponics forum for the sticky threads by member Al B Fuct & learn the " perpetual harvest, single cola, sea of green " style for max harvest weights per sq ft per year .

I want to try hydro but Im trying to go organic and I feel like the best way to really learn organic growing is starting with soil. Next grow im debating bout flood and drain I just havent really stuck my head in that field yet to fully grasp the technique. I was thinking of RDWC but was to lazy w making the set up :( not so lazy anymore but I feel soil is the best way to learn about microbes and how they work first hand

Fired her up and damn 600w was bright! My first time playing with HIDs and it was fun watching her glo up! Now shes at 50% and I threw a big old wind tunnel in there on level 3 the highest she goes and the hood is about a little under 2 feet under the babies and there is somewhat some heat but a little
